Feeling alone

Hi,

I know I am not the only one here who has a ICD or pacemaker who is about 20 years old. It would be nice to talk to someone who does. If you are one of these people message me, please.

Stephanie

I'm not 20 anymore, but I was in my 20's when I got my first one. Hopefully one of the younger members will speak up soon. If you want to meet in chat, send me a private message.

I'm 33 and just got my PM a month ago. For the past year, I have not been allowed to drive or anything while doctors figured out what was wrong with me. I went from being full of life to stuck in the house. I felt very alone. I was scared, angry, paranoid, depressed and every other emotion possible.

Today, for the first time in a year, I feel good. Nothing hurts and I want to get out and do something. Things will get better for you too. Chin up!

Hey Stephanie,

I'm 21 and have had my PM since February. It can definitely be scary, but I agree with Tammy - you've found the right place! Are you on Facebook? In case you are, I've sent you a message with my details. I'd love to get to know you. :)

Hi Stephanie,
I was 21 when I got my pm placed I am 24 now. I would love to hear more of your story. I know it can be hard having something and not knowing people your age to talk to about things. You came to the right place where a lot of things people here have experienced.

Welcome!

Tammy

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
