warfarin friendly lotion? soap ?

hello out there in cyberland !
can anyone help me with what moisturizing lotion is most warfarin friendly ? how about laundry detergent? bar soap?
'found out i'm now very allergic to soap - 'covered in hives for a year ... 'felt like lice .... good to know it's not, but still unsure about what i can use with warfarin ...

Hey,

is there any problem with soap and Warfarin? Are you sure the allergy has something to do with it? Never heard that before. Have you asked your doctor or seen a dermatologist? I'm on something like Warfarin but do not have any problems related to that, especially not with soap.

I have been on Warfarin on two different occasions. I have been on it now since March '09 and have never had any problems with skin/hair.

Are you using some new type of "stuff" recently? I bought some "throw away" razors for underarms not too long ago and noticed each time I used one, I turned out with what looked like pimple type, red, itchy "thingees" around my underarms. Took care of those razors; they were medicated to make them "softer"! I have not had any more problems. Same thing happened to me before that with a new perfumed deoderant. I do find that in my hard, well water, something with Aloevera/Aloe does well for me for bathing and moisturizing, but Warfarin is not involved.

it must be that you are in that 1% category that is allergic to Warfarin.

call your pharmacist...they can look all the side effects up for you.

and what about something like Benadryl, see what your pharmacist says about that as it might help with the hives.

and then there is always the route of contacting a dermatologist.

in this day and age it seems anyone at anytime in their lives can and do develop allergies to something.

If you've been suffering from hives for a year and have been on warfarin for a year, you could be allergic to the warfarin. Warfarin requires no special soap or lotion because it doesn't have anything to do with your skin unless you are allergic to it. You need to be talking with your physician about this because he might want to try you on Coumadin itself rather than the generic warfarin.

I doubt that the Warfarin is causing your problems but the tabs have different colored dyes to mark them for the different dosages. Its probably a very remote possibility, but you might be allergic to the dye in whichever tablet you're taking. You might want to get that checked out by an allergist or try a different size Warfarin tablet (but make sure you're getting the proper dose by mixing and matching with the 1 or 2 mg tabs and/or cutting the larger tabs in half)
