i too have french roots. big surprize. my dad's family settled in buckingham quebec form ireland. evewn tho we were irish thewre was for sure my grandpa marrying my grandpa and he was protestant and she was catholic and thye had to run for the hills. start a new life miles away. that in itself was a nono . how things have changed wowo

i too have french roots. big surprize. my dad's family immigrated from ireland settled in buckingham quebec. from there there was some integration. my grandfather liked a protestant woman and ran away with her and never did return till his buriel years later by horse and buggy. he was young tho and his son my dad eleven, they would not let him travel for the funeral. after his death, he was a diamond driller, my grandmother rented rooms to pay her utilities sometimes to family and sometimes to strangers. she had a big house. she lived there till 87.we visited every summer til we grew up. even then family stuck to-gether thank god jessie
