##### HAPPY BIRTHDAY! #####

Hello to all.

I want to say a special thank you to the ones who have responded positively to the Birthday Wishes. Unfortunately, this is going to be the last Birthday Wish I will be posting.
The enthusiasm is gone, no one seems interested, a lot of veteran members have left, things have changed, people have changed.
The Birthday Wishes were started about 2 or 3 years ago, as a way to honor and thank the many members, for their help and contributions to this forum, without which we'd all be
" basket cases," by remembering them on their special day.

( A Basket Case: Someone who is in a hopeless mental condition. )

I'd always heard that the term came from the First World War, and it referred originally to quadruple amputees. At that time, I was told there was little that could be done for these people in terms of rehabilitation, and so, they were kept in beds with rails all around. The beds got nicknamed " baskets, " and so the veterans who were totally dependent on others for all their physical - and by extension, emotional - needs, came to be called " basket cases. "

Now, for that special person who has a Birthday. My friend,
Maureen ( jessie ) September 5, ( 1941 )

A Special wish to Someone who gives and cares, who laughs and loves, who shares and listens, and who touches so many hearts.
A Special wish for You, Dear Friend, on Your Birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAUREEN!

Take care everyone! It's been fun while it lasted.

~ Dominique ~

Another Chance.

OK. I will finish the year. It wouldn't be fair to all the members who have waited to see if their B-Day has been mentioned. We'll see how that goes.
I checked the list, and there are too many special people left whose B-days are coming up.
Thanks Bambi, Johng, Brokenheart, and Angelie for the vote of confidence.
I just get frustrated, when I see all the postings, and all the answers given in response, but when a Birthday is mentioned, it goes unanswered. How do you think the person feels, when he/she sees 0 comments?
I for one feel very cheated, and I'm the one posting the wishes.
You don't have to recognize a name, to acknowledge it.
That's all I meant.
Catch you all on the next B-Day. Take care,

~ Dominique ~

good point!

It's true, I am guilty of doing that same thing! Just because I don't "know" the person, doesn't mean I shouldn't wish them a happy day! I will try harder to include everyone! My computer is on its last legs, so there are some days it does nothing but freeze! So frustrating! I want to post comments and can't! Anyway, if you would like some help Dominique sharing the load, I'd be happy to! Where do you find the birth dates anyway?

I will miss it !

Dominique,

I don't contribute much these days, but I do remember how much I appreciated th support and encouragement from the club members.
I enjoy the contributions of all the longtime members as well as the newer members.
Your birthday greetings are a great reminder of the really nice people who are on-line.
Maureen, is a perfect example of those people who care for others. Despite enough concerns of her own, she takes a lot of time to help the rest of us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAUREEN !!
And thanks again, Dominique.
John

Birthdays

I'm new to this group. Just implanted 3 weeks ago, and have been here a couple of months before implant. It seems like it would be awfully time consuming to wish everyone a happy birthday with so many members. I think it's a bonus, but certainly wouldn't get my feelings hurt if I didn't get a happy wish on my birthday. This is a WONDERFUL website for questions, answers, support, and communication with others in similar situations. I don't know what I would have done without this site thus far.

Thank you!

Happy Birthday Maureen! I hope your Birthday is amazing.

Dominique your heart is so amazing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping the birthday wishes going. You have such a special heart and I for one want you to finish the year off and then hopefully by then my computer will be fixed or I will have a knew one and people able to get a updated list. I appreciate you and hope you know that! Much Love and many prayers!

Dont stop!

by brokenheart - 2008-09-05 12:09:17

Just wanted to say please dont stop wishing happy birthdays. I havent been on this site long, but i know that anything that is good is worth keeping. So please dont stop! The veterans may be gone but there are lots of new people joining every day. Dont know when your birthday is but would like to wish you the best birthday ever and may God always grant you all your wishes and most importantly give you lots of health. God bless you Dominique!!!

What happened?

by bambi - 2008-09-05 12:09:21

Thank you so much Dominique for taking up the reins and taking the extra time and effort to wish members on this site a Happy Birthday! I don't know what happened, because I thought many people responded in joining in with good wishes. I guess people move on, or more realistically, we are all pretty busy, and it may seem that the "veteran" members have left the site. But there are new enthusiastic members that may hang around for a while! The many new members in the past few months are proof that this site does serve a need for fellow pacers.I also would like to join you in wishing a very sweet lady a happy, happy birthday!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAUREEN!
Thanks again Dominique for all you did!
