Fingers Crossed!

I posted a few times about how I had my pacemaker removed following an infection last november. Well yesterday I got a new one implanted! I was on a waiting list but I rang the hospital and they gave me a cancellation so I got it done yesterday.
It went well and so far I feel really well. The new pacemaker is on my right hand side so I have a new scar, the old one was on the left. It's a St Jude Microny so it's tiny. I'm feeling much better already as I had been very tired due to the bradycardia and heart block. I am stiff and sore in the area but it's not too bad. A few painkillers seems to do the trick.
So fingers crossed it won't get infected...

Anyway I think I will be leaving this site for a while. I would like to stop thinking about pacemakers after the six month ordeal I've been through. Also I never seem to get many replies here so it's not great for support anymore.

Thanks to all who did reply to me though through my three years or so on this site.

So sad to hear you are leaving. I pray that the surgery went well.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
