Electric Frank

OMG, I just read a response by DonR to someone regarding a pacemaker and how they work, and while dozing off from the lengthy, scientific, though accurate response suddenly realized he's ElectricFrank reincarnate.

Welcome back Frankie !!!

Can Smitty be next?

I miss them both, may they rest in peace.  They really were the anchors of this site.

I was...

...the last recipient of a message on the open forum from Frank.  I know he carried on an extensive Pvt Msg practice with many others.  We were both at White Sands Missile Range in 1964-65.  I was in the Army & he worked for General Dynamics.   MOF, he was in my tracking room for several tests GD conducted, at the same time I was there, but due to the gaggle of folks present, we never met.

IIRC, I determined he had died through some extensive research after he had been absent for several weeks.  I found his phone number, called several times & left messages, & finally rec'd a return call from his son.  About two days later, he (The son) sent a msg to the club, announcing Frank's death.

I wrote an Obit for Blake to put in the newsletter, but the letter died before the obit was printed.  I was looking in my archives for my copy of it, but it is apparently lost forever.  Frank was an amazing, highly talented man, accomplished in many fields.  Though he had no degree, he was one of the last of a breed - a man who worked as and was allowed to claim the title "Electrical Engineer," w/o that piece of paper.

Arguing with Frank (in the classical sense of the word) was an experience never to be forgotten and a learning experience beyond belief.

I, also, miss him greatly.  I was not channeling him, but I determined a long time ago that we were cut from the same bolt of cloth - Frank from the cloth, itself & me from the scraps that fell on the floor & the selvedge that went into the trash can.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
