Live your life

Hi Karen. My story is similiar to yours. I had million questions like yours when I was hospitized in 2012 due to heart problems. Then in 2016, I was also diagnosed with hyperthyroid and I needed to have a full thyrodectomy

I went to dozens of doctors from different countries. Did extensive research myself as well. I was miserable, worried all the time, and so on. I was taking so may different pills that I did not even know the interactions between all these different drugs for my heart, kidney, and thyroid

But one day I decided that My life could not go on like this. my conclusion was we all live once. And the situation we are now in may be our fault or simply genetics. Who cares..

we should forget the past, and make the best of our second chances. Ofcourse we need to be smart, know our limits, and try our best to live a healthy life style

Listen to your body, but do not overthink. just enjoy your life.

For me it is about wuality of life not only the duration... wish you all the best

Short answer...

Not trying to sound pessimistic, but, short answer is the ICD or CRT will not fix your heart.  It will however keep a constant rhythm so your heart will keep beating and if it stops or goes into ventricuallar tachycardia or ventricullar fibrilation it will shock or pace you out of it and back to a normal rhythm.  So, again, no, it doesn't fix your underlying heart problems, but it does keep your heart beat going.

High calcium

High calcium can be caused by lots of things.  Recommend talking to your doctor or endocrinologist about potential Parathyroid gland issues.

Agree with previous comments.  A device won't fix underlying heart issues but can keep you safer so you can enjoy life!

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
