Learn Tab

Just noticed that the Learn tab on the bar above has been updated.  Don't know when this happened and I may not be terribly observant, but the FAQ section is now pretty good! Check it out before you answer a post on a subject that comes up a lot and save yourself the effort of giving out all the usual information.

May I contribute a bit of feedback on the 'web links' contained within the 'Learn' Tab?

The pacemaker manufacturers don't include Microport. https://microport.com/healthcare-professional/cardiac-rhythm-management-home-page

The support organisations in the UK could be updated to include The Arrhythmia Alliance and organisations on their website who support people with A.Fibrillation and Syncope disorders.

Hope this is helpful.

Oh someone has noticed!

Since I was given editing permissions Penguin some months ago, I have been ever so slowly going through one or two FAQs and updating them but I planned on telling everyone when my work was near complete.  Of course life gets in the way.

I will continue to do my work as time permits.  You will find under Learn Device Information is empty and needs completing.  It is apparently the main category in the database and will not be a simple fix.

Some Web links need updating or don't open appropriately but all of this is a work in progress, so thank you for the additional links Penguin. I am sure this site is going to continue to be a good resource for our members.

Depends how the forum will develop. Will it continue to be International with European members? If so a lot of the links may need to be expanded.  There's a US bias.

Device Information - that's a tricky one. Could you change it to a more general sub heading such as ' Differences between Pacemakers / CRTs / ICD's ' and explain how they differ in terms of how they function (broadly) and the heart conditions they treat,  then create links to manufacturer websites for specific info?

The Arrhythmia Alliance website is pretty inspirational!  I haven't looked at it for years, but they've certainly stepped it up a few gears.

I shall add your valuable comments to my wish list Penguin!   I have already got a substantial list to work through myself.

Discussions have only just commenced with ForHearts Worldwide but at this early stage, I have every confidence that we can work well together.  There is already a lot of excellent information hidden away here, so we have a good foundation on which to build.

We have members from all over the world and growing daily and there is no reason to believe that this won’t continue under the ForHearts Worldwide team.  I am sure we will be looking to make our resources more relevant for all members wherever they live.

I'm loving the new setup in the "LEARN" tab. Access by choosing upper right drop down menu. Then check out all the great updated info under the LEARN tab on the left. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ good job!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Oh and I can live without the gallery pics displayed.

I can see who's online again. Thx!

That was my post on admin's announcement post saying we have a new website host! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I wasn't responsible for activating the Gallery pics although I don't dislike seeing them.  They are living proof that we can be active with our pacemakers.  The only downside is that when the Gallery pics are displayed, past/current Polls cannot simultaneously be accessed/displayed, so I hope this can be corrected when the site is upgraded.  Perhaps we could have a separate category under Learn for Polls?  Lots to think about and lots to do.

Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.
