You are worring me as my hubby has the same make of difib pacemaker. He is having trouble with one of the wires pulsating his stomach and the difib has fired once.

Please can you let me know urgently what happened for yyou to have to have it removed???????

Hi Duane, may I be so nosy as to ask why you had everything removed? Thank you so much. I'm glad you're still here. I am new. I had my pm put in the 13th. Had complications and a collapsed lung.
God bless.

Hi, Duane!

I first went to this site over a year ago. Haven't been on for several months: my son got married in April and my daughter in Sept.--plus a whole lot of other stuff going on! I live in Omaha. My nearly 20-yr.-old non-married daughter had her first pm implant in 1998 (age 9) because of congenital (??) complete heart block. It was put in her abdominal area. Her single MedTronic lead broke in 2002. They did a new dual-lead implant in the standard (collarbone) location. (They left the old equipment inside her!) That Sigma DR pm has been on recall since 11/05. This has been very hard on both Kara and me. Her problem was first diagnosed at her kindergarten physical in 6/94. We had to "watch and wait." It's way to young to have to have a pm! Anyway, I feel your frustration with MedTronic, etc. The main thing is to hold these companies responsible! Keep fighting! I have a REAL CONCERN about removal of leads. Kara hopefully has another 60-70 yrs. to live with a pm. How many leads can they put in a vein?? I'll be thinking of you. Go Huskers! Mary Jane

You know you're wired when...

You need to be re-booted each morning.
