New to group

Happy Holidays All!! Just found this group and thought I would post. I am a 47 year old female who was implanted in June of 2006 and had a cardiac ablation the next month. I was diagnosed with tachy/brady syndrome and atrial fib. I was born with Tetrology of Fallot which was corrected in 1973 and Dr. thinks is the reason for the other issues now.

ela-girl,

Thanks. My pacer is doing it's job. Took me a while to get used to it but I feel better. Found out last week I have to have Pulmonary valve replaced and small anyuerism on my aorta needs to be repaired. Nice Xmas gift from the Doc, huh?? LOL. So more surgery in the next year, but knew it was coming. All part of the "ongoing" repair job from my teens.

Welcome!

Welcome to the club, TKS. You will find that this is a great site full of caring people willing to share experiences with one another. If you ever have a question, just ask and someone is bound to chime in to help! I hope your pacer has been a big help to you with few or no complications?!

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
