What an informative website. Found it a couple of weeks ago and see lots of support!

I had my pacemaker for Bradycardia. I had it since April of 2005. I pace in the upper chamber 30% of the time. I had one lead fall within the first week, but they changed the end of it to make it stick or grab better.

Also see that others here had a sore or burning scar, I did too, but it got better with time. I also went through a little depression with this new hunk of metal in me. It was difficult getting used to. I still feel it once in awhile. I have been experiencing a pouding sensation lately, but my pulse doesn't increase, so a little anxious about that. Could be the anxiety?

Welcome to the club. You will find great people here who are willing to share their experiences...so, ask away! As it has been said before, on this site are some of the best people you'll never meet!

As far as the pounding sensation, I can't help you out there. But I'm sure many people will be by to say HI and give you some ideas on that one...

Welcome to the forum! I have found this to be a great resource of information and support! I received my pacemaker 51 days ago... and I would still be a "basket case" if I hadn't found so many good folks and answers here.

I cannot comment on your pounding sensation really either, although I know I had a great deal of anxiety both pre and post implant and felt like my heart was pounding! But mine was coupled with blood pressure and pulse rising...

Hopefully someone will respond who has had the same issues.

Hello, I'm new to this site. I have a medtronic PM, it will be 5 yrs in july, and I'm concerned about when the batteries need to be replaced. I have had that pounding you are refering to and I finally related it to acid reflux, ther is a fine line between the stomach and heart, and I think it is my stomach throbbing, so I take tums, it might not be your case.I also got my PM for Bradycardia. maggie
