abbrevations in the PM world

I am new to the PM site, just 12 days since install.
I read a post this morning that had so many abbrevations that I couldn't understand it.

For example:
EP
AF
PVC, which I don't think is poly vinyl chloride
INR
TACHY
BRADY
POTS
SVT'
CIVU
NCS
EF, just to name a few

Would it be possible to get an abbreviation list/definitions maybe in the 'Information" section under FAQs or maybe its seperate tab?

It would be helpful if the abbreviations would have a short definition and maybe a link to webmd for further information.

Thanks, Charlie

EP = electrophysiologist (type of cardiologist)
AF = atrial fibrillation
PVC = premature ventricular contraction
PAC = premature atrial contraction
TACHY = tachycardia (fast heartrate)
BRADY = bradycardia (slow heartrate)
SVT = supraventricular tachycardia
NCS = neurocardiogenic syncope
EF = ejection fraction
POTS = postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome
PM = pacemaker

We are going to have an abbreviation list added to the club this year, so in the meantime, keep asking!

Really good recommendation Charlie. Present it to the site admin. That's one of those really useful things. I was also thinking, if it were possible of making a sub sorting by age so that people, especially the youngsters can identify themselves to each other easier. Like all of us they have unique issues which are age specific and would benefit by having their own lingo to talk about things among themselves...and then there are always us oldsters.

I hope everyone is having a good day and if not I'll pray it for you!

One more abbreviation...

The abbreviation that confused me when I first came to this site was SOB. Took me the longest while to figure out what it stood for...in relation to pacemakers, that is.

SOB = shortness of breath

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
