and the winners are...

Did anyone else trip over the porta potties trying to get down the red carpet? Sheesh, but we sure are set! I think we can all break at the same time with no lines. Good job, Angelie! *peering out into the audience* Wow, we've got quite a crowd here! Lots of red in support of The Heart Association.

Patch, you WILL move that bow tie before you come up here to get any awards!!! This is a family show.

Louise, Hot Mama!!!! You look mah-vah-lous in those heels.

Bella, doesn't that boa make you want to sneeze?

We won't be doing any commercial breaks because no one wanted to sponsor us. We will, however, be doing frequent potty breaks due to popular demand. We've got some people out there on low battery, so we're going to move right on to our first award. The first category is Youngest Age to Receive a Pacemaker. And the winner is...

... vbilbrey!!!!! who got his at one day old.

our last two awards for this evening

by Tracey_E - 2009-02-06 06:02:53

This next award goes to the member who's posts are most likely to make me spew coffee all over my computer. We had a lot of nominations in this category, enough to make me think they hand out extra sense of humor when they install our leads. But we could only choose one winner.

And the Pacey for Sickest Sense of Humor goes to...

... Cabg Patch, of course!
http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn36/tceller/paceypatch.jpg

Our last category is the member who's had a pacemaker for the Longest Time. And the winner, at 31 years and counting, bionic since 1978, is....

... Blake, our administrator!!!!
Because Blake is our fearless leader, he needs something extra special to make him stand out among us. Blake, I had to shop two continents to find one of these, I sure hope it fits!

The after awards party will be held at Loopy Lou's, we hope you'll be able to join us there. We apologize to those of you deserving of awards who did not get a Pacey Trophy, but have you priced titanium lately!?

...and I like to thank

by Syrano - 2009-02-06 07:02:32

Da wife, my cardiology team, (Yeah an entire team effort these days for me), my primary care MD, the local rescue squad, my two cats, our Pitt Bull, and two antique mice from my wife`s classroom. Also the pharmacist`s son, whom I`m putting thru school.

Yes, 18 meds everyday. My persistant heart failure became particularly narly this past December and after a 17 day visit to our local hospital, I returned with a brand new ICD, a stent, and enough meds to win such a coveted award. So I basically got cabled and upgraded!

On a more serious side, there is no way I can even begin to thank the nurses, MDs, and staff in the ciu and cicu units at Pitt Memorial Hospital here in eastern NC.

Me feels left out!

Bet I could win if you had a "hairiest buns" category. No. I won't post a pic!

Host "IMPLANT CITY"

by arty - 2009-02-07 06:02:31

I would have thought there where more members in the US than the UK?? But it would be cheaper to be ill in the UK.

"hairiest buns"

by arty - 2009-02-07 06:02:51

I see yuo are a Retired Engineer, that explainds it all.
Arty

Yes you are right Arty

by pacergirl - 2009-02-07 08:02:03

Yes, the US has more members than the UK, it's just that I love to travel! I also some UK members can't travel at this time for medical reasons. It could be fun. :)
Pacergirl

I vote UK

by Tracey_E - 2009-02-07 08:02:18

Free health care clinches it. Do the math... if one person has to have an emergency battery change during the events, in the US that would cost more than the airfare for us all to get there.

Bill.... if you promise not to post a picture, I promise to stay out of photoshop making your statue...

Host City?

by pacergirl - 2009-02-07 10:02:32

Uhmmm, let me think about that.

I would like to suggest it be "IMPLANT CITY" We could have an electrifying time. We would all be in perfect harmony and we all can keep the perfect beat! he he... it really could be fun for so many of us.

Maybe we should all meet in the UK? That way more people could attend! They have great health care there, just in case one of us looses the beat. Plus there are so many friends there with ICDs and PMs.
Keep the beat!
love, Pacergirl

So are the days of my life......

Tracey you're too funny. I would like to thank the Pacemaker group for helping me along the way. This award is as much yours as it is mine.
Thanks. I would say more....but I've only got 30 seconds, and the port-a-potty is SO far away I'll have to criss-cross walk over there as it is.

seriously, Tracey, and everyone else involved....thank you.
