Funny, my Pacemaker was put in right after my daughter turned 14

Thirteen was a breeze... fourteen has been, well, lets just say more challenging. Of course at the same time my son turned 10 (within about two weeks of each other.

Interesting times ahead

My condolences. :-)

Having two daughters myself (one who is now 18 and the other who is 15), lets just say ages 15 and 16 are/were not my favorites. Lots of stuff goes on in their world (especially girls, who tend to create their own drama) that can prove challenging to parents.

Trust, but verify. Quiz boys about their intentions. Call other parents. Avoid being in the same room at certain times of the month. Get your own facebook account. Volunteer to be the designated driver (you learn a lot). Grit your teeth, smile when you might not feel like it, and give them lots of love. Eventually, they'll get through it.

Tracey, your life has been interesting up to now... but hold on because it's really going get interesting now, more than you ever thought possible! ha ha

Actually I loved the time with my daughters when they were teens. (well most of the time)

I have 3 grown daughters and even now there is never a dull moment!

Happy Birthday to Tracey's daughter!

There Is Life After Teenage Years ~

by Carolyn65 - 2009-12-03 10:12:17

CONGRATS. on your milestone & Happy B-Day to your daughter for coming from being a "tween" to a real whole fledged "teen"! This too shall pass and believe it or not, you two will look back on these future years and have big laughs, especially after your daughter has her own "teen" in the far, far future ~ oh, what fun ~

At one time, we had 3 teens (2 girls & 1 boy). I will take a boy anytime over shopping/clothing/satisfying a girl & her tastes (+2 for us) ~

Now I am a Grandmother of a "tween" & a teen (12 in Oct. & 14 in Jan) ~ oh how I don't miss my two girls and 1 boy at this age, but I love, love, love both the Grandboys at this age!

Hang in there ~ Carolyn G. in TEXAS ( :
