Just had an implant

Hi,
I'm a new pacemaker patient. My implant was done on 6/25. I get a little lightheaded sometimes. I think it's caused by the medicine I'm on. It lowers my BP. I have my first follow up appt on 7/16. Hopefully the lightheadedness will be taken care of then. Otherwise I feel great. The reason for the pacer was for tachy/brady syndrome. I never realized how bad I felt until the pacer was put in. I never thought I needed a pacer. I now know I did.

Hey Bionic!

Welcome to the world of pacing! I had my first implant when I was 11 and then my second pacer was put in 2005. Ya, I can't think what it would be like to not have my pacemaker, its a part of me now. Plus the doc says it can stop the bullet of a 22 pistol or a 38 magnun. =D

My pacemaker also deals with the tachy/brady in both the upper chambers and lower chambers of my heart. They don't make pacers for my heart condition yet, that is the newer ones so as to my knowledge Ihave the oldest and last pacemaker of its kind. When it was installed they took it from a 80yr old man that had just died (ya I know real inspiring right). But given that its kinda cool knowing this is the very last one of its kind.

The light headedness will go away and soon you will forget that it is even there.

Luck to ya~!

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
