An EP is an electrophysiologist. They specialize in the electrical system of the heart.

If you are having problems, by all means, ask your cardiologist for a consult with an EP. They have a better understanding of pacemakers and the electrical system of the heart.
This site also has some top notch people for answers to most questions. We're all here to help each other!

ep vs cardiologist

I don't think they even had electrophysiologists when I was diagnosed in 1970! I've only ever seen a cardiologist and never heard of EP's until I came here. I have a great relationship with both my doctor and St Judes reps so I don't see any reason to change courses now.
