I thought I'd share my small bit of good news. I got my driving licence back today. 6 months after implant, plus a few weeks admin time and I'm back on the road.
I can't wait to go out for along drive.
Cheers,
Mark

Good for you. It's not easy here in the UK is it? I too was unable to drive for 11 months as I had a shock 5 months into my 6 month ban so had to go another 6 months. It wasn't much fun without my car but I got through it.
It has changed my driving habits as now I am quite happy to be in the joining lane close to the hard shoulder just in case I get a shock. Of course I do use the other lanes but am always glad to get back to whrere I feel comfortable. I don't want to kill myself or anyone else and the hard shoulder has become my comfort zone. It only took a short time to regain my confidence which I was pleased about.
I too have VF and it's frightening just how quickly one can become unconscious. With me it's about 3 seconds. Have you read the VF abbreviation on the home page? Quite a serious problem so do take it easy and look after yourself especially behind the wheel.
Stay safe & good luck.

Driving again

I don't know how I would get along without driving. I enjoy it too much.
I just finished 12 miles in 6 hours of off road Jeep driving over rocks and boulders. Except from being a bit tired tonight I feel great.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
Way To Go!!!!

Yippee!!!!
Glad to hear you can jump in your car and go. Great news!!!
Did you doc take your licence away? How did that work?
I haven't driven since January 11 of 2005 when I almost fainted behind the wheel!!! To this very day, I do NOT know how I got the car to the shoulder of the road and called for help. So, it's been my choice not to drive as I wouldn't want to hurt someone else let alone crash up hubby's car!!
Yes, it's a major inconvenience not being able to go out when I please as I always have to depend on someone else, but hey, I think I made a wise choice.
However, I do keep up on my part of the car insurance and keep my driver's license up to date, because if not, then I would be qualified as a beginner again.
Hubby can't get over the $$$ we are saving and the wear and tear on the car since I no longer drive.
But hey Mark, I'm glad you got your license back and can enjoy driving again. Good for you.
