National Wear Red Day Feb.1st

February 1st is National Wear Red Day

I feel very strongly about raising awareness about heart disease. Too few people realize that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women (and men), but the good news is heart disease can often be prevented.

Wear your favorite red clothes or accessory - a red blouse, a red dress pin, a fabulous red handbag - put on red lipstick, or sport a red tie and red socks. Go red in your own fashion to show your support for women and the fight against heart disease.

So please won't you wear red on Friday February 1st?
We could post our Go Red photos in the Member Gallery!

Best Regards,
I hope I will be seeing RED! hee hee,
Best of Health to you all,

Pacergirl

Pacergirl,
This is a fabulous idea. After all, most members of this club do have some sort of heart ailment. And what is better than to show support for a cause that helps so many?
I'm all for wearing red on February 1st, and posting a photo in the Member Gallery.
Thank you for the reminder. I hope many follow your lead.

I, too, am a member of the Red Dress Movement! I've also sent email reminders to family & friends. I've got my sassy little red dress pin that I will wear everyday in February. I like to wear the pin often and I always get at least one person who will ask what it is. Gives me the opportunity to educate that person and hope he/she spreads the word. No one believes that heart disease is the number one killer of women. The majority think it is cancer, primarily breast cancer.

what about my Pacer Club sweater that came 20 sizes to big... that has red writing on it. or don't us men qualify in the fashion stakes !!!!!! I think Blake should dedicate one or more pages so all your "red" pictures stay together.....
I must say I have never heard of this day .... but I think it is great.....love Pete

The American Heart Association is in charge of this movement in the US. They encourage women to take the Go Red Heart Checkup to know their numbers (BMI, BP, cholesterol, fasting blood sugar, etc.) and risk for heart disease and to do something about it!

I, too, am a member of the Red Dress Movement. I've sent emails to all my friends and family to ask them to participate in wearing red on Friday...never thought to post something here. Good job, pacergirl!
