not a problem, though it will slow you down getting through the airport because we set off the metal detectors. Tell them you have it and they'll walk you through and do a pat down instead.

Can you fly with an ICD?

No, you need a 'plane!

Sorry, couldn't resist ;-)

do you mean fly an airplane or fly? flying is easy. i just tell them before i go thru security and they take you aside and do a pat down. honestly it is nothing. i have never even had to show my card. i just show them my site and that is it. no pressure . just gentle patting down. trouble is i have two steel hips lol so i went thru setting them off before this pacemaker so at least i don't do that anymore. jessie

I suppose you could try.... but I prefer to fly with my Wonder Woman cape! he he

I certainly hope you have a healthy sense of humor. I can be a bit silly at times... ask anyone who knows me!

Seriously now..... If I must..... I have flown in an airplane many, many times as have lots of ICD wearers and Pacemaker people as well. Other than a good going over by the security people they pose no problems, at least for me anyway.

Take care and don't let anything hold you back from doing the things you love to do!

p.s. I usually just pack the W.W. cape :)

can you actually pilot a plane with a pacemaker?
My son wishes to be a water bomber pilot?

You know you're wired when...

You have a $50,000 chest.

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
