Pacemaker Checks

I have found myself listed on the M.T.P.C. list. That's right the Missing The Pacemaker Check, list. I keep forgetting to call them on the day assigned. I get busy, I feel fine and then I simply forget! I get these frantic calls from the Cardiologist that I missed the Pacemaker phone check. This time they asked me "Who takes care of me"? What? I asked? I'm at work, I replied. I take care of me. They must have been thinking I was getting senile and forgetful because I am old. My goodness, it is that I am just too busy. I feel fine! I want them to leave me alone. I don't wish to be reminded that I have a PM every couple of weeks. My husband feels differently about it, so I guess I better not miss the next one... It is on Oct. 27 at 8:00 am Central time zone in the U.S. So maybe with all you knowing about this Phone check someone will take mercy on me and give me a heads up when the time gets closer.
Thanks all

Better not forget again

I too was too busy with the pacer check and thinking I am feeling fine and no need to go to the clinic every so often for check, guess what, the next thing I know is that my pacer is in the ERI mode. How I would let myself get to that point, that I don't know but I was never good with keeping doctor's appointments, hopefully when they take my pacer out next month, I will have one less doctor's appointment to worry about.

What I did

My 1st PM check in the office @ work & I was ready! So I call in & then open the case the PM checker thingie comes in & find out it was my camera. That didn't work. Guess they have heard it all so they just rescheduled. Hah!!

What about your calendar on your work computer. My last job the calendar could be set-up to have a reminder pop up for appointments & meetings. Even someone else (the boss) could put it in. Worth checking out.

i posted more pictures. one of my daughter at the arena last winter in calgary. and 2 of me on our european trip. that is why i can relax and enjoy cleaning lol which i used to hate. i take pride and am even painting a bit jessie. sunny days ahead i must say i am unimpressed with dr. appt's and try to miss them to if i can. i have one coming up. they need to take me to the o.r. so i must first see a anesthesiologist before they will operate on the freak. i say this as that is how i felt when the nurse and the dr. were discusiing my fate. lol something more for you to laugh at jessie by the way it is a day procedure nothing serious and not cancerous so they tell me

big red letters

You might wanna write it bigger on your calendar next time. You're a little young for a caretaker!

Janet, so I guess emailing them a picture wouldn't have been quite the same thing? hee hee

I totally slack off on my checks if I'm feeling good and I know my battery has a lot of life left in it. They don't say anything to me until it gets up to 6 mos or so.

Thanks for the Tips!

Hi, I will try a larger RED MARKER to highlight the home calendar. I could put it on my computer at the office, but the appt is for a Monday at 8:00 am so I will not be there yet.

I love the story about the camera! Now that is very funny!! he he... I collect cameras. :) I tried to turn my phone check EKG on one day and it's battery was dead! That didn't work too well either. :-) Hah!

I am in the last year of battery life so I will try harder to pay attention.

Thank you Jesse for taking merccy on me and I know you will send me a reminder when the 26th arrives. Thanks! I certainly appreciate all my Pacer Chicks friends.

love to all, Pacergirl

Ok this post made me laugh out loud, because in my 16 years of having a pm I have twice been kicked off of the phone checks because of missing call too many months in a row! Then I have to call them and make up some lame excuse about why I didn;t get the checks, and ask very nicely if they can re-enroll me! My doc used to get mad, now she just laughs at me and tells me to call if I feel anything weird!

You know you're wired when...

You name your daughter “Synchronicity”.
