Like a lot of you, I too have been given marching orders to put salt on everything If you've never had a salt bagel - you have try one - at least once. Tastes a lot like one of those big soft pretzels - but on steroids. My local bagel shop makes them really big. I know that in some places in the States they even sell them at DunkinDonuts.
It's funny to suddenly have permission to eat as much salt as I can. My family used to tease me and promised me to get one of those salt-lick things they put out for deer, lol.
Now if I can get permission to eat cheesecake everyday I'd be REALLY happy.

When I was in the hospital the last time, my husband brought me Chinese food (we all know how horrible hospital food is). (By the way, Chinese food is loaded with salt...it is often my cuisine of choice whe my bp is too low.) When my doctor came in, he was pleased to see me eating something finally, and then he advised me that I was the only one on the cardiac floor that was allowed to eat Chinese food! I was lucky that my neighbor across the hall wasn't throwing those rock-hard dinner rolls at me! :)

Oh- I am so jealous!! I have to keep my sodium to 1500mg per day. Sounds like a lot but there is probably that much in a can of soup and a bite of cheesecake :-P

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!

I was under those orders first trimester when I was pregnant both times. I lived on fast food and canned soup!
and if you find a doctor that prescribes cheesecake, I want his number :o)
