Battery use

Hi there, I’ve had a pacemaker since 2009 and was told on December 2018 check that I had about 18months left on the battery. I was due a check in May 2020 which was cancelled due to the Coronavirus. I started a couple of weeks ago to feel similar symptoms to those that I had experienced before having the implant. 100% Pacing

I had a PM check this week and was told that the upper chamber is being paced at 100% and the lower at 40%.  Battery life is approximately 2 years but was told that it may have to be replaced in 6 months or so.  Should I be concerned about the life of the battery since I have no "wiggle room" if it dies.   Next check is in 6 months.

Lead Increased OHMs

I had a device check today and the device technician said one of my leads had increased from 400 ohms to slightly over 1000 in the past year. She called and talked to the Medtronic Rep who told her to not worry unless it reached over 2000. It is the Lead to my lower chamber and it only paces .2% of the time. I have 2 leads which dont work any more and need to be replaced but got told can be risky due to being in for a long time say over 11 years due to fat etc how risky is it and how risky is it putting new ones in and sucess rate

Pacemaker lead locations

Yesterday I found out where my pacemaker leads are located. One is in the RV Apex and the other is the RA Appendage. It also said “ Right ventricle model, and AV block with 2:1 AV conduction.

 I have googled this but would still like any input that anyone can share about the above information.

Sorin Eno device & Medtronic leads

Hi all..Just a quick question.

I have just had a new pacemaker fitted in the last couple of month . My new device is the Sorin Eno & my leads are Medtronic. My original device was a Medtronic and also the one before that..Had endocarditis on the last device which was only in 3yrs and subsequently was removed last April.

pacemaker replacement

I had my PM implanted almost 9 years ago. It was implanted for sick sinus syndrome (40) and Afib. On my last visit, I was told that I was 100% dependent. I have one yeat plus a few months left on this PM. I've had no problems, feel fine, swim 50 laps every day. Now I am nervoius now, how do they change batteries if I am PM dependent 100%.

Life of Battery

My pacemaker is six months new. I have just been told it is active 86% ofthe time. That seems high. I was told at outset that it would last about 10-12 years. Can anyone tell me if this is way off the mark?  My husband's PM is in use about 2% of the time...different reason, so I get that. Anyone?

Complete Extraction Two Weeks

Found out in January that I never needed a Pacemaker at all. The doctor made a huge error two years ago (possibly a pattern and that is being investigated). The device has been turned off for a few months and I am going to the Cleveland Clinic to have Dr. Bruce Wilkoff do the lead and device extraction in less than two weeks.

Lead extraction advice

Hi all,

my name is Meg, I'm 34 and on my second pm. I've seen three cardiologist in the last few months and it's been determined I need both leads replaced due to noise and my pacemaker battery is wearing down, basically a whole new system. 
 

I was trying to go to UC San Diego for the surgery since it is their specialty area, however my insurance has denied my claim for network adequacy since I like in AZ and have an HMO plan.

Echo scan

Hi Guys ,  been for my check up today I have a duel pacemaker it will need replacing in under a year not had it replaced befour i have complete heart block, I'm a bit worried as the nurse said they will book me for a echo scan befour they change the pacemaker in case I need a third lead  !!! Lead compromised/failure

Anyone have a lead malfunction/compromise right away? I had experienced shocking pains right after surgery. Sent home thinking that was healing pain cause no one understood what I was telling them & kept saying pain was normal. I had woken up while the caurterizing part of making the pocket for the pacemaker because the anesthesiologist didn't believe I wake up during procedures! One lead not "working".

Hello...so glad to find this group!

My husband had a dual lead Pacemaker installed after several fainting episodes, and then three 5 days later he was told to self isolate because of possible covid exposure at the hospital. No replacement

Hello

I'm 60. My battery is running out in a few months. I had my first one at 42. My second one 51. I have alot of medical problems that cause extreme pain full body neuropathy plus muscle wasting. It started after taking antibiotics. I have seizure disorder controlled, neurocardiogentic syncope that's what the pacemaker is for. Plus sibo and Neurogenic bowels. Hello all,

I have been referred to have a lead extracted at the same time I get my battery/unit replaced.  I've been told this is a riskier surgery than initial pacemaker placement. Any thoughts?

Box change and new lead

Hi - I'm 44 & had my first PM put in 10 years ago. I'm due a box change this year and possibly a third lead to improve things.  I just wonder if anyone else gets the ' clicking' sensation, where you can feel the impulses on the leads? It doesn't happen often but is unnerving when it does. I've mentioned it at check ups but I get told I shouldn't feel anything, it happens when they run the tests on the device too.
