Superior Vena Cava

I have had a tighness in the neck & prominent jugular veins for 2-3 weeks. I've had a CT scan that was clear. I'm obviously not imagining the symptoms. I wondered if any one has any ideas of what this may be? I have a single lead ICD with a lead revision 6 months ago after a failure.

Twilight anesthesia

I had my pm on 2/6. I may have to have an upper endoscopy soon with twilight anesthesia. Has anyone had one performed at a GI center and not at a hospital?

Mood Disorders

Hi,

44yo female, AV Heart block type 3

implantation May 2022, resting heart rate 24 at implant

I used pacemaker 100% of the time for first 6 months

now I am using 66% of the time, dr is perplexed about why

Prior to the pacemaker I was having severe mood swings and irritability. I did not know that I had bradycardia for likely over a year. My doctor has since told me that it was related to underlying heart condition and the COVID-19 va...

Upper endoscopy or co.onoscopy

I will be due for my upper endoscopy in early 2024. With a PM, is it safe to have the procedure done at the Doctor's GI center, or should it be done at the hospital as an outpatient?---in case the unthinkable happens, the resources are closer.

I had my pm mplanted in February and am a little nervous.

Anybody Had an MRI with a RECALLED Abbott PM 2272

I am the "proud" owner of a PM 2272 that is on the recall list of PMs that possibly were not glued together using the correct process AND I am going to need an MRI done.  Anybody had an MRI done with an implanted RECALLED PM 2272? My concern is that heat buildup from the MRI on the PM 2272 might cause the possibly incorrectly glued parts to loosen and leak.  Abbott says don't worry, they are monitoring for evidence that it is leaking.  However, since I pace 98% of...

Proud owner of a new two week old pacemaker….

Hello, everyone!  I am new here, and am grateful for all of you who are posting with information!

I had a pacemaker implant two weeks ago.  I suffered from tachycardia for many years, and then tachycardia/bradycardia syndrome, heart block, sinus node dysfunction and diastolic heart failure.

I had my first check up a week ago, and leads and interrogations all looked good.  My concern is that I have had twitching in my right eye since my implant.    The...

Just a problem

I have never felt worse since getting a pacemaker defibrillator inserted. Continuous muscle twitches in left arm. I am told by my Experts that it is not caused by my operation, even though I never had problems before. Just fed up not sure best action I have had 75 good years so

Sinking feeling?

Every morning before I get up, I have a "sinking, feeling of doom" problem.  I  have thought it was because I just was not a morning person.  It is really depressing and I only feel better after coffee!  I have had PM for 4 years and just posted another message on a question of why? my resting HR which is set to stay above 70, has been creeping down to 67, 68 and 69 this week???  i am 82 and in good health, exercise 6 days a week, Curves and GYM treadmi...

Low pulse rate

I posted on here the frustrations in getting the cardio physiologists to accept my readings of 32 BPM with a pacemaker set to a minimum of 60 BPM.

I was feeling really rough when it happened light-headed and dizzy and initially, they said I would have to put up with it.

Not willing to accept that outcome I contacted the GP surgery and pursued it as a referral through them.

Yesterday the cardio people were still saying I was stuck with it, but they would ask one of the consul...

Excercise

Hi pacemakerclub,

I am grateful to have a place where there are people that understand. I am 67 and have had my pacemaker for 2 years. I had to have it as my heart rate was to slow and I was passing out. I am grateful for the pacemaker, but also it causes me anxiety and panic that either it will stop working or the leads will pull out. Which brings me to the reason for my text. I work out 6 days a week. I try to not pay attention to my heart rate while working out as it fluctuates,...

Orthostatic Hypotension (OH)

Dual Pacemaker impanted about 9 months ago and have had bouts of orthostatic hypotension. My settings were adjusted from 50 bpm to 70 bpm and RR and its seems the OH has gotten worse. Today I measured my blood pressure after lying down and then standing up and it dropped from 120/66 (70 bpm) to 81/46 (80 bpm). Diagnostic for OH is only a drop in 20 mmHg

I wonder if anyone has any experience with OH. I found a case report that says that a male with OH was cured with a pacemaker and optim...

Long-term pacemaker - fatigue

Hi all - wondering if anyone can relate!

My partner is 31, he was born with third-degree congenital (complete) heart block and on his second PM (first one wasn't implanted until he was twelve despite being diagnosed as a baby).

Despite having the pacemaker he still experiences lots of fatigue and struggles to live a normal active life. He describes it as feeling like his energy battery never fully fills up, so he's always trying to make up the deficit. It was a l...

Pacemaker

Pacemaker on 1-30-2023 for low heart rate.

Experienced extreme sharp striking pain first night after placement. Dr prescribed pain medication and could not explain reason for pain. X-ray ekg showed no problems. Pain was lessened with pain medication.
Discharged next day. It has been 20 days since leaving hospital and I am still experiencing sharp tingling pains in my right breast. I cannot sleep on my side because of increase in pain.  I have been back to Cardiologist an...

Ectopic beats with DDDR Pacemaker

Hello

I'm on my second PM for complete heat block.

I had no trouble for 18-years but now the old symptoms of skipping one out of three beats are back.

I'm alright if I'm active but as soon as I relax the missing beats start. Lightheaded and BP low.

Scary in the middle of the night.

The irregularities started and I had a run of several days. It was picked up on radial wrist pulse, chest sensations, oximeter and BP monitor.

I contacted the cardiac...

Pulse

Third unit Nov 21 last year. Reason for the first, 21 years ago, was that my pulse went down to about 40 BPM. My opinion of why, is from taking med for BP and irregurar beats for years called verapamil.

Now, the pulse is aound 40-50. They won't replace the old leads because of my age and the danger of bleeding. One of the two leads is causing "noise" when testing. I've gotten no satisfying answers from the electrophysiologist or my cardiologist as to why the...
