Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI

BRAVO test for acid reflux

Has anyone had a BRAVO test?  It's a GI test to check for acid reflux. A capsule I'd put on your esophagus to measure acid reflux. The capsule falls off in 48 hours and is eliminated.

Dental Devices

Hi, my wife had 2 cable pacemaker installed 3 years ago due to AV full block. She is pacemaker dependent. During dental treatment, the pacemaker is put in asynchronous mode so that the devices do not interfere. It's annoying that to get it asynchronous each dental session. I consulted with different cardiologist. He said that there is no need, with recent technologies there is no need to set asynchronous mode while dental treatment. Anyone have similar experience? High Voltage Transmission Lines - Interference?

Hi, I have a medtronic pacemaker (it is in bipolar mode - I think that's relevant to my question based on my research thus far!).  I am considering buying a home that is adjacent to high voltage transmission lines (230kV).  The backyard literally backs up to the transmission lines/right of way, so they would be very close.  Would this be a concern for my pacemaker?  I have found some articles and comments here and elsewhere that it is fine to pass under these...

I had a pacemaker put in November 27, 2022. I have a medtronic model W1DRO1 with 2 leads. Does anyone out there have a problem with their pacemaker using a riding lawnmower.  I will check with my doctor and see what he says but I was wondering if any of the pacemaker club has had a problem.

Hello all:

I got a Biotronik dual chamber pacemaker implant last Thursday (March 2nd) and I'm still getting familiar with all the does and don'ts of living with it. 

What I'm confused about here is the power tool restrictions, mainly gas powered ones.  We live on 2 1/2 acres of trees, brush, rocks, critters ( well, you get the picture).  I have a gas powered weed whacker, 2 gas powered chain saws, a gas powered pole saw and a multitude of electric power...

Portable Induction NuWave

We have a NuWave portable induction cooker.  My husband is the only one who uses it.  It sits on our countertop but is only plugged in when in use.  He also buys the specific pans that work with the cook top.  If this system is not plugged in can it still cause me a problem if I am near the cook top or the pans which hang above my stove?

75 and work full time around electrostatic products and electrical equipment.  

I need a heart valve replacement (TAVR) but they say I have to have a pacemaker first and it's scheduled for Feb. 17th, 2023.

For the younger, female members with pacemakers/ ICDs I'm not sure if you've come across the same problems when getting ready to start a family.

In Certain Cases Elderly Person Feels Unwell

Hello

My mom has tachicardia. She gets tired fast and can't do chores for long. 7 years ago she had ICD installed. She has double chamber pacemaker from St Jude and I think it is model Endurity DR PM2160 or PM2162. I am not sure.

Pacemaker

Every day I experience my heart beating really hard for a minute.  I know exactly the time it will happen as it is always 23 hours and 59 minutes after last one. I find it quite uncomfortable and need to cough during episode.  This has been going on for at least 3 months but could be longer as gets earlier by a minute each night.  It is currently at 22.10.  I don't want to feel a nuisance ringing the hospital. Should I be concerned?

Clothing To Block RFID and EMP

My PM has been installed for 3 days and I have been reading the Medtronic owners manual. I am a remote pilot and a metal fabricator. 

I was wondering if I can buy clothes to protect my PM from interference that comes from the remote controllers that I use to control the drones that I fly during missions. The Medtronic Manual says keep antennas 6 inches away from the PM. Knowing me, I will forget that during most missions because the controller is strapped around my neck.
