Why am I having high bpm?

Background: Around thanksgiving, I passed out while driving. ER doctor diagnosed me with bradycardia and vasovagal syncope. Two weeks later, during a tilt table test, my heart paused for 8 seconds and the next day, they implanted a pacemaker.

It's been 9 weeks since my pacemaker implant and for the past week. I have been having palpitations and chest pains on my left side and also a burning sensation sometimes to the right of my pacemaker.

Today, I borrowed my son...

more visible pacemaker

Hi !
It seem's to me when I look in the mirror or even if I touch it, that my pacemaker is more visible. I can almost see it through my skin.
is it normal if I only have it since 7 months.
i am worried about it. I am not in my country now, I wonder if I have to go back home in Montreal.

Thanks!

I also mentioned no need to come into his office for pacemaker check as doing the remote thing every 3 months.  He also agreed no need to come in.

Pacemaker Mediated Tachycardia (PMT)

How common is PMT?

I'm one day short of a fortnight since my PM was implanted. Last week, at my check up, I was told that I had PMT and the Cardio Technician changed some settings to counteract the tachycardia. However, it's still happening. A few times a day (4 - 6 times) while going through my FitBit records, I see readings over 120-130 BPM.

I've read that PMT can be dealt with and am having another consultation tomorrow.

EF down to 34% with reduced ENTRESTO

Hi all,

I am 35Y Female with HFreF since last 5years. I had ICD implanted 2years ago and so far no complaints. In my last appointment (Nov '19) with my cardiologist, I reiterated about lightheadedness that I always have. And she reduced my entresto from 99/101 to 49/51. I had a 3 month review yesterday and another ECHO taken, which showed EF reduce from 43% to 34%. So my doctor increased Entresto back to 99/101 and reduced carvedilol (morning dosage only) to 18.75 from 25.

Pacing with anticoagulants for AF

My dad had a pacemaker for SA node problem and extra beats in 2010 when he was 60. His doctor gave him Bisoprolol (5 mg)for extra beats and that caused bradycardia for which he had the pacemaker to correct. Then last year his doctor said the desease has grown to the AV node and put him on 100% V pacing. We were not satisfied of this explanation and went to a new doctor. The new EP said the pacing was artificial and my dad had no AV block and adjusted the setting...

Inherited Conditions

Hi so I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant and I have sick sinus syndrome with a pacemaker and my husband has CPVT currently managing on beta blockers.

We know CPVT is genetic and autosomal dominant and so there is a paediatric alert in place for the baby once they are born to get checked over, but having spoken to the paediatrician apparently SSS can be genetic too and autosomal dominant too? Nothing through the post yet but the consultant was on about getting genetic testing for...

PM and Syncope/Seizures? Ictal Asystole

Hi all, I'll get right to it - I started having syncope episodes last May - otherwise a healthy, fit 24 year old guy. Had all sorts of tests done and nothing was showing anythting out of the ordinary cardiac-wise. Finally had a Zio monitor on that caught 2 episodes and they saw my heart stopped for 20sec both times - got a PM placed the next week. That was in August and things have been a lot better since, but still have had 'dizzy spells' every couple of weeks. Not very fun,...

Tachycardia Episodes

I keep having tachycardia episodes where my heart rate will spike to 109 and then quickly subside to whatever the rate was prior.  This is happening from 10 to 30 times a day.  The worst effects are at night when my heart rate will go from 50 bpm to 109 then back down to the 50's.  I have 3rd degree AV block and my lower chambers are 100% paced with a medtronic device.

My question to the group - Does this sound like a device setting or just tachy...
