I'll be 52 in a couple of days and just had a pacemaker put in a little over two weeks ago. My BPM was in the 30's and 40's for quite some and now it's been set at a minimum of 60 BPM and my energy has increased tremendously.

Hi there,
had a pacemaker fitted three weeks ago for sick sinus syndrome,it’s been set ar 55bpm,it’s now keeping my heart to that level and tablets are stopping it going to fast, yesterday all afternoon I experienced abnormal heartbeats, is this normal or should a pacemaker regulate those as well does anyone know?

Stinging and discomfort after 4 months
I've had my Medtronic PM for 4 months but I still have lots of stinging, discomfort and soreness. I've called my surgeons office and seen him several but they want me to give it six months. It's very frustrating because I had absolutely no symptoms except tiredness before my implantation and now I've had four months of discomfort and stinging. Anybody else had this? Suggestions for dealing with it.

thanks. it is my meds that are making me tired and dizzy. called my prescription service. they were a great help explaining how my drugs work. it was never explained to me when I left the hospital

Good evening. New here. I am three weeks into having my PM and I love it BUT I can't get past the fears of leaving my house or hotel room (comfort zones). I have been told by my cardiologist and my echocardio doctor that this is normal and nothing is going to happen to me. I have VERY high anxiety issues. Please feed me some good insight please. This is driving me insane.

Site/shoulder discomfort
Hi, I got my pacemaker 3days ago. Im 60 and in very active and want to be completely compliant with my discharge instructions. This is a whole new ballgame for me. How long does the pain in the side last? Everything looks fine I just find it very difficult to sleep in any position but on my back and I'm very nervous about doing anything wrong .Do other people feel this way from the very beginning?

Thank you everyone who replied to my post and gave such helpful advice. I will dust off my Nordic poles and get moving. I will also increase my water intake Gemita,I am probably guilty of not drinking enough water. I will let you know how I get on.
Soreness
Can anyone speak to how long the pacemaker site remains tender to the touch. It's been 3 months now since the surgery. I'm a tiny person and am wondering if that has anything to do with it? I've seen the doctor and now 2 PTs and an orthopedic and they all just shrug their shoulders.

I've only had my icd for about 3 months now. My cardiologist and surgeon stated I'll have a normal life, well it doesn't feel normal. Very little pressure in my upper chest, lower throat after I eat,, a little pains around my icd and the right side of my chest, a little light-headed. The weird thing is when I walk I feel ok. Hope you are all well in the new year. I just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced discomfort still after a year?
It's uncomfortable to lay on my left side and stomach to sleep. And sometimes there's a dull pain. It's so apparent in my daily life. I was wondering will this ever truly go away or is this something I just have to deal with?

I found out last november (2020) in the local emergency hospital, that I have serious heart failure - dilated left ventricule cardiomyopathy, with acute pulmonary edema, and I am lucky to have survived.

My Pacemaker was installed back in October, 2020. To make a VERY long story short, I had immediate (and painful) complications with the placement of the bottom lead which was tweaked repeatedly, then repositioned (twice), and then (when all that didn't solve the problem) was just simply shut off.
