I just got a new St. Jude biventricular pacemaker to replace the dual lead Medtronic due to worsening ejection fraction(40%). The doctor told me he was able to place the new LV lead in the perfect place. After the implant, while I was in recovery, the new LV lead became displaced. Two hours later I was back in surgery. The doctor tried to reinstall the lead in the same(best) location but was unable to due to clotting in that area so he placed in in another locati...

I have a pacesetter, St Judes, implanted in 1999,
According to my cardio, I very seldom use the pacemaker.
My last check up was in May 2019. According to my cardiologist, all working fine.
My concern is that a few nights now, my heart rate drops to 40bpm, my pacemaker is set at 45 bpm. I cannot feel it when it kicks in..should I feel it. At times when it does kick in I cough and I can feel it, but this usually happens during the day, for a secon...

Just wondering if anyone has had a constant vibration in the left breast? It's approximately 20 seconds at 1 minute intervals. The vibration is faint and no pain or discomfort. I've made an appointment for a pacemaker check for Tuesday (soonest available). I've had no trauma at the pacemaker area. I have Afib and have had the floppy fish thumping last week. I have good days and some thumping days.

So quick question about a generator change out. So I went to the dr back the 1st week of August and they said I had 3 months left on my battery and it will be singing either any day now or months from now. Here we are over a month later and I'm still waiting. I'm just confused because I thought your device gets changed out at 3 months. My last one went unexpect. into EOL after 2.5 years due to a defective battery so this is very much new to me. Any advice would be appreciate...

I'm extremely petrified. I have a dual lead pm for a third degree cardiac av block, after an overnight, get the hell out cuz you don't have insurance, hospital stay, I was told that I have a displaced lead. My cardiologist office set an appointment for post release, but it was one day outside of the grace period. I can't get insurance, or any other kind of help to get it fixed. Has any one had this issue!? Is it dangerous!? Thanks in advance for anyone who has any info

Hi,
I have a question if anyone could help?.
Does anyone have or hsve had a bloating sensation in the diaphram or solar.plexis area and if so is this likely to be a PM.lead.that has moved.
I keep getting this.feeling / sensation.which doesn't give me.shortness of breath, pain or enhanced heart rate but is a worry.
I have discussed this with my doctor.and.there isn't a concern; the PM is working fine.
Any experiences.or advice.would be welco...

I am 31 and I've had a pacemaker that long. I'm about to have my 6th pacemaker and and need new leads as well. My newest lead is 16 years old my oldest is 31. Due to lack of space to place new leads they are doing a lead extraction. I've been throughoughly briefed on all the risks invovled. But what I'm wanting to know is how long were you guys off before going back to work. I teach elemetary music and am trying to figure out how many days...

Hi All,
Re: Pacemaker.
Can i have answers to the following questions please.
What voltage would the heart suffer if the two bare leads, or loose bolts touched and shorted out? The battery being one year old. The device having two leads. Also, Would this event register on the device memory?

Biventriclar Defibrillator since 2004, lifetime of heart issues, too many to list - my 5th generator replacement will be in two weeks in addition to a lead extraction and replacement- any recommendations for after care for myself, dos and don’ts or other suggestions or recommendations and what to expect. They will try laser extraction first but this lead has been in 13 years.

I'm new here so please forgive me if this subject has already been blogged.
My pacemaker / de-fib wes implanted in Nov 2017. The leads are magnetic. Since that procedure, I have had the need for an MRI on two occasions (prostate and R knee). Unfortunately due to the magnetic leads, the MRI procedure could not be done thus the diagnosis and need for surgery has been impaire / comprimised. I know that non-magnetic lead pacemakers of the same make and model...

Recent check up to assess PM (Medtronics) battery life, gave it 0.5 months to 21 months.
My question why is the range so great and is the battery life based on voltge drop?
What is the basis for raplacement and at what point do they decisde it should be replaced.
This will be first PM replacemnt, since implanted 10.5 years ago.
Apprecaite any comments.

I was born with a defect that resulted in me having a pacemaker at 18mo. Now that I am 29 years old, my original leads are struggling to perform adequately, resulting in me "using up" the battery life of most devices in five years. I have had about five pacemaker replacements and now I am having issues with scar tissue and my chest cavity being concaved where they have removed tissue. During my last operation, doctors wanted to move my pacemaker to my abdomen, but I was very sc...

Furious and worried. I'm not sure which of these is worse for me right now.
After 4 years, both of my leads have failed.
I'm on medicare advantage with no other insurance.
it will be a complicated surgery to remove and replace both leads, and the doc wants to also replace the PM.
I have not been able to get a cost estimate of the surgery and equipment from anyone. Not Humana, not the hospital, not the doctors.
I live in Nevada. Ca...

Hi everyone hope all is doing well. My electrophysiologist’s nurse called me to make an appt. seems my transmitter has been showing somethings wrong with one of my leads, apparently one has shorted out. Has anyone experienced this? What happens now? I have tried to find out about this online but there’s really no real info out there that I am finding. Can anyone help a girl out here? Thank you

Hi everyone!
Its been 5 months since I’ve had my pacemaker placed in. These past two days I’ve had dizzy spells (no fainting, thankfully) and feel as if my heart is fluttering more. I’ve never felt this before since having my pacemaker placed in my chest. I’m wondering if this could be a lead that’s maybe moved? Has anyone else experienced this? I plan on calling tomorrow to my doctors office but wanted to get yalls opinion too.
