Beyond FRUSTRATED!

Hi everyone!

So I HAD an appointment this morning at 9am to do a Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test to see what else may be causing my shortness of breath and fatigue. Well yesterday afternoon I received a text saying my appointment was cancelled. Needless to say I had a meltdown. I called the VA and with enough pushing I got the tech who does the test on the phone. She told me they are cutting appointments due to the Coronavirus and after reading my file she didn't think...

Does anyone know where I stand ..covid-19

I've complete congental heart block, a heart murmur, long qt and high blood pressure and I've been fitted with a dual pacemaker paced at 60bpm. How much am I at high risk with these possible new guidelines of 12 weeks self containment files that could be issued by the weekend. My son attends high school and if he goes to school he could bring the virus home or catch it with out knowing being a carrier so the oscillation I'd be doing wouldn't be any use. Can anyone help me out....

My husband is 67 and has CHF and after today is taking the decision to shield himself from everyone for 12 weeks by staying st home.I know he will really struggle mentally if I move out for this time as I still work and we have bills to pay etc,so I am considering isolating with him to keep him sane but just wonder where I would stand with my employer. We live in U.K and I work for a well known chemist but would they expect me to take it unpaid?-is the government offering help in a s...

I don’t get it!

Hi everyone!

I'm back again with some updates. I'm 2.5 months post surgery and still struggling. I don't know if it's mental or if it's an actual problem with my heart. Overall I feel myself getting stronger when it comes to exercise but most days I'm still exhausted. I feel so tired I can't stand it! It's like an overwhelming feeling of fatigue. My body feels like it's ran an entire marathon and I've barely done anythi...

PTSD

Hi All

12 months ago I had a total heart block and in acute care 12 days before receiving pacemaker. It took a good 9 months to recover. I felt like I was playing on deaths door step and if the door opened i would have no control or choice but to go through.  Im 100% paced, my issue is the intrusive thoughts throughout the day of flashbacks. I think I might have Post traumatic stress disorder. Im feeling well enough now, but cant seem to shake it. Any thoughts or suggestions....

Hi,

I'm in my early 30s and have been having vasovagal syncope with no trigger for the last 6 years or so, haven't been driving for about 4. For years I was told to just drink more water, eat more salt, that kind of thing (nothing workerd). However, this summer I got a loop recorder which showed that during my symptoms, I would have pauses of around 6-8 seconds. From the timing of when they happen vs my symptoms, they think that this is predominantly cardiac and not just BP (we...

Problems dealing with CardioMessenger Smart

I'm having a lot of problems dealing with my CardioMessenger Smart device. My doctor told me their equipment would monitor my heart activity regularly at 2 AM and would make any necessary adjustments to my pace maker. Unfortunately, most every night I wake up before the monitoring time and can't go back to sleep until sometime later. I'm having difficulty dealing with the monitor and it's causing me to loose sleep.

Brand New Pacemaker

Three weeks ago I started having episodes of bradycardia.  I went to the ER for an infection in my eyelid that wasn't healing with oral antibiotics.  They gave me IV antibiotics but they were more concerned that my heart rate wouldn't climb out of the 40s.  They admitted me.  I returned to the 70's and after 2 days they discharged me and told me to stop taking the blood pressure medication I had been taking for six years.  Three days later my heart rate dr...

feeling vulnerable

I have had a PM for almost 6 years.  I live in Mexico, and I just had my second(only) check up with what they call an engineer here...someone checking how your PM is working.  I have never had what I see referred to here as an EP(an electrophysiologist) but only a cardiologist, whom I see regularly.  I was quite shocked to learn that the PM is the only thing keeping my heart beating now...if the battery ran out or something else happened, my heart would stop.  Anyone...

Severly Depressed

Hello, I just signed up for this site after reading several posts on the site.  I didn't see anything negative or hurtful, so here it goes...

I had pacemaker surgery on July 1 after passing out at my desk at work.  It happened a couple of times prior to that at home, I just thought I was getting over the flu and was tierd.  When I called my doctor from work, they told me to call 911 or have someone take me to the emergency room immediately.

Three days later I...
