Unable to sleep

I've had a Pacemaker since I was five days old, but I never really had any trouble with it. However, since getting a new one in 2016, I've had trouble sleeping. When I told the doctors, they said they'd turn down my pacemaker a but at nighttime, but this hasn't helped. I'm tired, but I just can't sleep (hence, me writing this at five to one in the morning) . I really need help, because it's starting to impact my schoolwork and daily life. Do any others ha...

Tiredness

I have a history of high heart rate. On Christmas morning, my heart rate went down to 20 and I called nine-one-one and went to the hospital. I was giving my pacemaker several days later.. . My issue is not my pacemaker. It seems to be working very well. I do however have unusual tiredness in the morning. My best time is in the afternoon and evening. I started swimming yesterday and woke up very very tired. I have reduced my medication Metro parole. I'm hoping that this will help. . And th...

Hi everyone, new to this! Nearly four weeks PM implant, had first tweak at the clinic last week and have felt a bit dizzy and nauseous since. Also feel fluttering in my chest now and then. Pulse stays around 75/80 and had PM due to slow heart rate. Clinic said pacer all good just wondered if anyone else gets whoozy. Nurse checked pm site this week and said it was healing well. Maybe I'm just anxious! Thanks for listening.

Exercise Intolerance/Shortness of Breath/Palpitations

Hello everyone!

Ever since I found out about my sick sinus syndrome back in October I feel like my health has gotten so much worse!!! I was hospitalized from 11/8 to 11/15. On 11/7 I could take my dog for a walk, exercise and do anything I wanted. I even have this HUGE hill by my house that I could climb pretty easily. I wouldn't dare attempt it now. I feel that ever since I got out on 11/15 I haven't been able to do much of anything. Today for example I took...

I donโ€™t want my pacemaker anymore

I have now been given a chance from a division 2 Coach to play quarterback at the University, I love football so much and I have always loved it. I did have a problem with my Pacemaker not being paced high enough heart rate that my body needed it to, but every since I have felt much better, the doctors fixed that from 180 to 210. I can actually run again and do things I couldn't do when I first got the pacemaker, I feel much better. I occasionally g...

RIGHT VENTRICLE PACING

So much has been written (and has also been commented on in this forum)  about the potential problems associated with RV pacing which could lead to heart failure symptoms in some patients due to “dyssynchrony” between the two ventricles.

My hubby 81 has a single lead PM to his right ventricle for bradycardia/syncope and pausing.  He also has AF and other arrhythmias.  His percentage of RV pacing is increasing rapidly af...

Extremely Worried

Following on from my difficulties following my first shock and being put on amiodarone; link here: https://www.pacemakerclub.com/message/36222/amiodarone-causing-constant-dizziness

My condition the last week or so has deteriorated even more. I am constantly out of breath, even just resting. I constantly have a light head and feel dizzy. I have started to feel my heart doing 'hiccups', I struggle to fall asleep at night and wake up exhausted and am tired all the time.

Tingling in my left shoulder

I'm new here and the whole PM is new to me since having it implanted in Nov. 2019. Before I go any further, I will say I feel the best I have felt in 3 to 4 years since getting my PM. Before, my heart rate would stay in the mid 30's to low 40's and after several times of passing out, my Dr. decided I needed a PM. I've had several discomforts but nothing I felt was not part of the healing process, until several weeks ago. I have developed a tingling in my left shoulde...

I am 67 and had a complete heart block and had pacemaker put in Oct 8, 2019.  On Oct 28, 2019 I was at emergency room sitting with my mom when I had dizzy spell. They rushed me to a room and was determined my heart rate was 30-40. I had to have the procedure redone. A lead was bad.  I'm having a hard time sleeping in a bed.  I definitely can't sleep on my left side where it's at under my collar bone. I'm short and surgeon had a hard time putting it in. ...

Pacemaker

Hi. My name is Jill and I’m 66 years old. I had a pacemaker implanted on December 23, 2019.  It wasn’t a surprise, but it’s stll difficult.  I have been in more pain and discomfort than I expected.  The first few days I was on pain killers. I’m off them now.  Luckily, I have an incredible support system with my husband, daughters, siblings, and sons-in-law. My grandchildren are FaceTiming me to see how I’m doing.  Even with this supp...

Pace feeling?

Good evening!

I earned my dual-chamber pacemaker January 2017. I've grown accustomed to the evening checks that I receive: 11:54pm and 12:24am.

However, 3 times today I had a similar thump sensation in my chest, during the day. I've never had that happen before. The first time it occurred sent me into a full-blown panic attack. The other two occurred a couple hours later and only a few seconds apart. No pain at any time and I didn't feel dizzy (except for when I had my...
