Gnawing Anxiety One Year Later Post PM..

Hello all,

So it is 16 months after my PM implant and I'm still riddled with anxiety. In January of 2019, I woke up feeling fine. Made coffee, answered an email. Suddenly it was like I came out of a fog and my left arm was shaking as if I was having a seizure. I had two more episodes (the third time I woke up on the floor bleeding from a minor cut). Believe it or not (and no sermons please, I've had a million since it happened) -- I drove myself to the hospital a half mile...

AFib and Alcohol

Had a pacemaker put in over a year ago and I’m on beta blocker, anti arrhythmia drug and Eliquis. I’m up to about 3-4 beers per night since all the virus stuff hit. I’m generally healthy, I exercise, eat well and not overweight. I turn 60 this year.
My AF burden is low according to my monitor. Actually zero in the last few weeks.

Any opinions on this? I seem to see a lot lately on drinking and AF. Not sure what to believe. A couple of beers relaxes me...

POTS & Echo Update

Hello everyone!

So the docs are leaning more and more towards a diagnosis of POTS. I have the Tilt Table Test on the 27th so that should tell us what we need to know. In doing further research I have about 85% of the symptoms listed.

Here is the link:  https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/16560-postural-orthostatic-tachycardia-syndrome-pots

My recent echo was nothing short of flawless. Everything looked good and is functioning great. My EF was between 60-...

New pacemaker with various side effects

I had a st. Jude dual pacemaker implanted 2 months ago for SSS and chronotropic instability.  HR had gotten down to 30 after a HR of 45 to 60 for over 20 years. I was extremely fatigued and SOB for 4 months with no improvement. After implantation had short runs of afib and bursts of svt, but felt better. Was placed on calcium channel blocker, Cardizem 120 mg.  Still fatigued, still having short runs of tacycardia, now with high diastolic BP, sweating constantly with no exertion, hea...

36 years old, LBBB, scheduled for CRT-D, SCARED

I am 36 years old, male, dont smoke, drink, or do drugs. As far as I have known I was always relatively healthy. 6 kids and married for 13 years. 2 years ago I went in to get my gallbladder removed and the staff went into a panic when they found the LBBB. Since then I've had echos (ejection fraction 35%) and heart cath.. no one can figure out why I have LBBB.. 18 months later my ejection fraction still hadn't gone up and medicine wasnt helping, in fact made me have symptoms when I don...

I was on a beta blocker for many years.  For the past year I noticed a very slow heart rate.  My internist lowered the dosage of atenol.   Everything checked out fine in February.  For the past year my energy level had changed and I assumed it was because  of my age.  However, in March I woke in the morning and felt light headed so I took my blood pressure, my heart rate was so low and my blood pressure was all over the place.  My husband took me t...

It has been four weeks since I received my pacemaker.  Received it due to pauses in heart rate. I also have age of the relation.  Today trying to do normal housework cleaning out cupboards and refrigerator etc. had to constantly push myself so very very tired and weak. Question is this normal ?   Was not this week and tired before the pacemaker.

Hi everyone! Thanks for replying regards beta blockers, my nausea has settled down somewhat so will persevere as heart rate good. Have another question!!! I still don't have bags of energy, I do a few jobs and have to have a break. I think maybe I've taken things too easy and now have to build stamina back. I still get anxious about pm. I'm 14 weeks now has anyway else felt this way? I have read somewhere on this site that it can take 6 to 12 months to really feel back to old self...

Updates

Hello everyone!

I pray that you all are safe and well. As for me things could be better. Recently I've been having more episodes of presyncope. The lights haven't went out yet but boy has it been close. It's been happening at such random moments that it sounds odd even explaining them. I lay down at night on my left or right side and I immediately feel this rush in my chest, this tingling in my neck and head and I have to sit up or else I'll pass out. I bend down to wipe...

PM Discomfort with sleep

My pacemaker is only 2 months old. I am having a lot of discomfort when laying down to sleep. I used to sleep on my left side. When I turned on my right side the pacemaker flips vertically and I have to push it back dow flat. Sleeping on my back is uncomfortable too. There just seems to ne a lot of pressure and some pulsing feelin going on at night. Is this normal? I don't know anyone personally that has a PM so don't know what to expect. Have a chk up scheduled next month. Any commen...

Zio patch

Just sent back my zio patch hoping finally they can see the issue, last year I had the 24 hour Holter but no episodes other than a 6% pvc burden. I did have four 3 hour Bigeminy and erratic events during this monitor so hopefully I can finally get help. Thanks to my Apple Watch I have been able to see things more clearly. My cardiologist didn't think last year I had enough issues to go to pacemaker even though my bpm is often in the 30's. Events are not consistent but often...

Worst Timing!

Hi everyone!

For the past few days in the morning I have been having episodes of presyncope, weakness, lightheaded/dizzy, chest burning/pain/tightness, sometimes nausea and an overall sense of panic/anxiety. I don't know if I'm having issues with my heart or it's a panic attack. Sometimes hours later in the afternoon my legs feel weak, I feel lightheaded but it comes and goes. I'm terrified to go to the ER because of this virus but I'm also terrif...

Intro - scared

I have a congenital heart defect and I knew a long time ago that it would probably lead to needing a pacemaker at some point.  I have always had this insane irrational fear and I don't even know what it is I am so afraid of. Well I am going to have to figure it out and how to cope with it soon so I was looking at information online and found this forum.  I probably will just read mostly. were you scared?  what were you scared of?  what was the surgery like - i heard yo...

Newbie with another question

Hello to all:

I've had my pacemaker for going on 4 weeks now.  All has been OK and I'm feeling good, aside from being stuck in my house like many of you.

I'm curious about the monitoring capability of my device. Mine is a Biotronik, but I understand many manufacturers use similar monitors. I've been told that the monitor uploads data to the manufacturer at night and if there is a problem, the system will notify the doctor on file and they will get in...

LIght headedness

In the last two nights, when arising and going to the kitchen to get a glass of water I was light-headed. They told me I wouldn't have that anymore after having the PM placed. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks.

New to the pacemaker world

Hey everybody.

Got my pacemaker 4 days ago after 15years of syncope with no knowledge of what was causing it. After having a Medtronic Reveal device put in a year ago I found out I was having constant ventricular standstills of 20-30 seconds and so a pacemaker it is (or more hospitalisations for the concussions when collapsing).

I know it's only been 4days but currently I'm feeling pretty apprehensive about the device and the way it makes me feel. The implant site it...

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
