High pulse (110) before getting out of bed

2 weeks post CRT D and I've noticed on my fitbit that my pulse is over 100 before I get out of bed. My first check up is in 2 weeks but I'm just wondering if this is common after a new pacemaker and if its cause for concern. I did phone the hospital but they said they couldn't say anything until I came in 2 weeks. To be honest, without the fitbit I wouldn't be any the wiser and when I went to bed my BP was 119/72 so it seems to be some sort of dawn phenomenon similar to blood...

Chest Pressure and Heart Racing

Boston Guidant pacemaker?

2 weeks after surgery, today I received the "card" with pacemaker details and it says I have a Boston Guidant pacemaker? I can only see Boston scientific on Google. When I did a search on this website nothing came up. I find it worrying that I have something not in the wider community. Has anyone else had this model ?

Recovery pain

I'm 3, almost 4 weeks out from having a Medtronic two lead pm implanted.  I have sss with bradycardia.  I'm still feeling short of breath, slight flutters and chest pain.  Could it be that everything is still inflamed.  I had considerable pain and bruising which is just now resolving.

How Long after Pacemaker Before Covid Vaccine

I have a chance to get a Covid Vaccine 8 days after my Pacemaker (2/1/2021).  Does anyone know if it is safe to get the vaccine approximately a week after surgery?

New Pacemaker/AV Block Yesterday- Surprisingly Easy Surgery

Procedure Done!

Hi everyone! 
 

Just to let you all know I had my procedure yesterday. It all went well and I had an upgrade from and single chamber to a dual chamber pacemaker, for complete heart block. 
 
During a stress test I was diagnosed with some exercise induced Non-Sustained Ventricular tachycardia, the doctors have given me and upgrade to a dual chamber pacemaker and 80mg of nadolol daily to stop this. Has anyone else experienced this?

FATIGUE AFTER SURGERY

Hi All 

I just wondering if any of my fellow PM recipients have experienced fatigue after their surgery.  Im about 2 1/2 weeks post surgery and im trying to get back into my normal life.  I usually get about 7 to 8 hrs of sleep every night and typically start my day around 9 am. How to know if op was successful

I had a CRT D last Thursday and now I'm wondering how am I to know if my Heart is now syncronised? Limited to do much with lockdown and the weather. Is the 6 week check up when you find out ? Also I have no idea of make/model but google says you get a card when you are sent home ?

Treatment of wound

Hi All

Just wondering if there are any recommendations about any topical ointments that can be put on the wound to help promote healing.  Im about 2 weeks post surgery and and still a little sore in and around the incision location. My dr said to just it heal on its own but im sure there has to be something out there to help promote healing.

I've officially joined the PM club!

Hi, I had a CHB (3rd degree block), and I've got my PM inserted yesterday. On the operating table, the surgeon said that he would suggest using a "his bundle" pacemaker but I could opt for the more traditional pacemaker that he said is usually for "old people".

He gave me the pros and cons: HB pacing is more accurate so it is better for my heart long term, but the cons is that the lead is more prone to failure and therefore could require a replacement sooner...

Stopping apixaban for 5 days post pacemaker implant

Had a CRT D implanted today and it seemed to go well but when I got home I had a phone call , apparently a doctor , who told me to stop Apixaban for 5 days. When I said I've not heard of it before she said she didn't know either so I'm wondering if this is misinformation or not ?

Tachy RHR after PSVT ablation-3weeks post procedure?

Hey all,

I had an RF ablation for PSVT about 3 weeks ago, was told it was a "success".  The first 4 hours my RHR was 60-80bpm which was great then at hour five it climbed to 110.  My RHR has remained above 100 often around 110 since the procedure.  I cannot take rhythm control meds due to a very low BP and orthostatic hypotension.  Also I am still having the higher PSVT with mild exertion (like standing over the stove for ten min which you can hardly call e...

PM to ICD with lead extraction

Hi all,

I see there've bene numerous posts recently about swapping out PMs for ICDs. I am scheduled to have such a surgery in two weeks. (I am an otherwise healthy 52 yo female with PM for three years owing to bradycardia and complete heart block. I recently learned I have a rare genetic cardiac disease that also puts me at risk for sudden death. Hence the ICD.) I would love to hear from anyone on the forum who has opted to have a lead extracted (rather than left in place)...

procedure confirmed

Hi everyone, 

Just to check in, I have had my operation confirmed for January 21st at Great Ormand Street Hospital. On the 12th of January they would like me to do an exercise test, apparently this is a normal thing before getting a new pacemaker, I never knew this? 
 

Im feeling quite positive about this as I'm sure getting the new pacemaker will help a lot,

Epicardial lead revision

I had an  dual epicardial lead revision June of this year (which made it  my 3rd heart surgery this year) after 2 failed attempts to place a lead on left side. I have a left bundle branch block, cardiomyopathy and CHF. CRT-P placement

It's me again. CRT-P implanted Nov.19th. I can't get over how much bigger and visible this thing is :(  It also seems a lot closer to my side/armpit. My bra strap irritates it and it feels like little pinches or shocks. It is also extremely uncomfortable when reaching for things and trying to sleep. (I'm a side sleeper)

Pocket revision

Has anyone had a pocket revision to bury the device deeper under muscle? I have had pain for 4 month, since getting my device, and that's what they are considering doing. They say some poeople are more comfortable with it buried deeper ad he hopes that will resolve the daily pain I have. There is ot a single day that I am without pain, since my August implantaion.
