Hello Friends,
I thought I posted a message 2 days ago but obviously I did something wrong! Sometimes the "techno-challenged" person shows up!
Simply wanted to say Thank You to everyone for the honest, caring, supportive and humorous culture in the Pacemaker Club. This is my respite from the rest of the world. You know, it's kind of like Cheers "where everybody knows your name". I want to go "where everybody knows about pacemakers". I feel immediately connected anytime...

Happy New Year to each and every one of our Pacemaker family. I wish you all improved health and happiness wherever you can find it. As an old girl who went through her entire childnood without a family to call her own this family means a great deal to me. You are among my greatest treasures.
I'm not usually the chattiest of people (until I get going I guess) lol but I would like to share a story with you. I have been a member since just before my PM implant three and a half years ago...

Looking back on my life I was so happy growing up. A very grateful kid to the simplest things. I remember waking up early in the summer mornings. I used to get up and help my Nana with the farm ( May she rest in peace). Working and playing for 10 to 12 hours straight. Not ever worrying about my heart. I used to play all the sports as a kid. Having a heart of a lion and never stopping for anything but a drink to continue my adventures of happiness. Who would of thought in my later years of l...

Has anyone ever heard of surgery to reposition leads? The burning pain I described earlier is really bothersome. I don't know how long I can continue tloerating it without it significantly disrupting my life.

Well, I went back in after being swapped to Sotalol for my Vtach. I'm on 120 mg 2xday and it's just to much. I'm tired most of the day, worse within 1-2 hrs of taking my meds. I had to swap when I take my meds, because it interfers with working out. I still have a difficult time working out even when I workout just before the 12 hrs for my initial dose is over. If I can't solve the issues with the headaches/tiredness, then I'm considering dropping 45 lbs (almost all of it muscle) and going back...

Hi- well as it is almost 2008, my husband and I have always planned to start having children this year. I had a pacemaker put in last August 2007 and had to have a wire changed a few weeks ago. So, obviously I will need to wait a bit but has anyone had a baby with a pacemaker? Did you give birth naturally? Are there increased risks to doing damage to the wires or the pacemaker itself with the weight gain? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks and Happy 2008:)

Hi all, first of all i wanted to say happy new year i hope its a good and healthy one for all of us :).
I was just wondering if anyone has suffered discrimintation or has been treated differently because thay have a pacemaker?
After i has my pacemaker my school didnt know how to treat me because they had never dealt with something like that b4. i was bullied by other kids which ultimately led to me leaving school early. i have applied for jobs and such but have been turned...

Hi folks!
Back in August I was scheduled to have a single lead PM installed to deal with a bradycardia/arrhythmia problem that I'd been managing well for about 15 years. I was ready and willing and pretty cool about the whole process -- just anxious to get it done and get on with my life.
Went in for the install and lo and behold, when I woke up, my doc was standing there to tell me that, uh, well, we didn't get it done! Needless to say, I was not thrilled. Seems as if th...

While driving the other day, I wondered just what would happen if my air bag in my Camry went off not far away from my pm? Have you ever wondered?... With that, I went into our clubhouse store and looked at the soft touch seat belt pad; not that it would solve all problems, but my lead areas are sensitive to the seat belt. When I clicked on the soft touch seat belt website, lo and behold, there is a new product... a bra strap pad. I ordered one of each and intend to try the bra strap pad under m...

To all:
I tried out an exercise bike today and learned that these new-fangled bikes use magnetic resistance to add drag.
I felt a little woozy... like you feel after the pacer checkup when they stick a magnet on your chest to fool around with your heart.
Does anyone have any info on whether these magnetic resistance devices on exercise bikes are safe for pacers or not? I can't find anything on the internet about it.
Any help or direction to an informative website would be...

Thanks to all who responded to my previous messages. I now take warfarin (generic coumadin) for atrial fibrillation. Can anybody tell me what the doctors will do if other surgery is needed. If they temporatily take me off coumadin before surgery, won't that again put me at risk for blood clots deuring that time?
Hi, could anyone help?
