Heart Stopped

Good morning,

Well I was up re reading all of the posting on this site looking for some input about heart stopping during implant prodcedure. My dear friend of over 45 years was recently taken in for an pacemaker implant due to diabetic complication, AF and other unknown diagnosis. During the procedure which we were told to take less that an hour ended up taking 3 hours + in surgery as heart stopped and was very slow to come back. Is this a normal occurrence?? Valerie - New words?

Hi Valerie My Sweet - Did you have trouble finding your way to Saddleback to see your uncle? LOL .I do hope he is doing better and can be home soon. Will he have inpatient rehab? Saddleback does have a really good rehab unit.

It seems to me that "awesome" and "amazing" are 2 words that are definitely overused these days..........I don't even like to use them myself anymore because they seem so ordinary and insincere!

I am sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention. I understand that they come to live back home and then leave again. My son and his wife seperated and he and 3 of my grand children 11,4, and 3 came also to stay with us. I was recovering from having my pericardial sac removed at that time. They were here for 6wks. Hi Fonia: I have had my PM since June 20 -07 and I haven't
had any problem. It would be normal for anyone to be
nervous, inwhich I truly was nervous from the time I was
told that I needed this. I know lots of prayers went up for
me and I truly had total peace on the day of implant. I am
so happy to have the PM as my heart rate was 40-50
and down in the twenties when sleeping. So may God

Jessie, my adult children don't live at home for my oldest son is 29 married at 18 and now has 3 children and a lovely home.My oldest daughter is 28 and a teacher. Need to talk

I need a 65-70 year old Grandma to talk to about CHF (and have a debrillator/pacemaker). I feel all alone and have been diagnosed since Feb 2005 but was able to serve a mission for my church in Baltimore beginning in April 2006. I am serving in the mission office as the secretary to the President. I am able to keep up but always feel kind of blue and sad and have to fight that continually. Well, a nice thing happened today. We suddenly booked a trip to the mainland to see friends who are moving interstate To Victoria. Gellia & Cathryn thanks so much for your positive comments, it really makes me feel there's hope. I really still have a lot of questions that my doctor doesn't seem to answer really good, I feel like I' m not in good hands with this doctor, so I'm looking for another cardiologist for my next appointment on August.

Could this be a good sign?

HI everyone. I can only imagine each of you must be just aching to hear some good news about my situation. I hope this is.

I told myself yesterday I was only going to try one last time with the docs at the current place. This was before I went back to see my internist there--which was yesterday. Well, she has ordered additional lab work to look at muscle enzyme (for damage) and also a CT scan with contrast--which is about as close to venogram I can get without getting one.
