PM lead problem

My lower lead has been shocking me since placement feb 10 after trying to re adjust it 4 times the nurse came in yesterday when i was out of it in surgical recovery and turned off the lower lead. When i woke up there was a note from her saying what she did. She said she turned off the lower lead and i didnt need it cause u only need it if u have blockage. DOC WON'T LISTEN

My first pacemaker was inserted on February 4, 2010. Within 4-days, I felt so much better, I remembered what it was like to feel normal. This lasted only 4-days and then I went back to shortness of breath, swelling in feet/ankles, rash on the top of my feet, back gas pains, chest pressure, and dizziness when standing.

Can pacemaker move?

Is it possible for my pacemaker to shift to the right? Yesterday my sports bra strap dug into the pacemaker when working out and really hurt. Then it seemed to bulge a little more than normal. And today I noticed that my seatbelt wasn't bothering the site as it usually does. So I think it shifted, but not sure if it's possible or if I should be concerned. My implant was 6 months ago, under the muscle.

Any thoughts?

PVC's

Hello everyone! I am new to the club. I had my pacemaker installed in January 2009, for severe symptomatic bradycardia. While I never passed out, I would feel extremely lightheaded, my ears would ring and my vision would tunnel and white out. POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS?

December 26th, my fourth TIA.

January 5th, ER and hospitalized 5-days for AFIB. I can't feel the heart beating but I definitely feel the side-effects. I was placed on blood-thinner and medication for the AFIB and told that most likely the TIA'S had been caused from attacks of AFIB and should not stop.

Dizzy spells

Hi
This is my first message. I really have two problems I have had my pacemaker since Oct. of 2009. I had a total node ablation and pacing 100% with one lead on the lower chambers. I have had two dizzy spells in the past week and my tech. says everything looks fine. is this related (second)

my daughter had her pacemaker placed just over a year ago and did well with recovery. she has had asthma symptoms develop over the last 6 months and is being treated daily for that. in the past week, she has had a couple episodes of swelling in her knuckles with a little redness....i don't know what its from?? could this all be related to the pacemaker or underlying condition of complete heart block? i did a little looking online (dangerous, i know) and saw these things could be related to heart...

Severe Tricuspid Valve Leak

Hi there
I have had my pacemaker for 13 years, 11 years completely problem free. Now I have developed a severe tricuspid valve leak, which is caused by the lead damaging the valve. I am from NZ and my cardiologist says that removing the lead after all this time is hugely risky and that he has never removed leads after so long.
Has anyone out there had this happen? I am 44 so I do not want to be so inactive - I get so tired from the smallest activity, walking etc whereas I used to play...

ICD failure to "kick in"

On 5 Feb, I experienced extreme chest pain, called paramedics who found that my heart was beating at 160 (bpm), tried to bring heart rate down with meds w/o success & transported me to the ER. Cardiologist there also tried to slow heart rate w/meds w/o success, tried to adjust heart rate setting of my ICD (which was implanted 11 months earlier) because the high (160 bpm) rate. Pacemaker site infection

For those of you that don't know, I've been having some complications with my pacemaker site.
I had a upgrade from single to dual chamber in Sept. '09. Just a week after that, they had to go back in and revise the right atrial lead because it had dislodged. (Right in time for the big Tampa event-....my timing is always perfect...lol)

Occlusion

I just had a new BVICD implanted to replace the older 2 lead pacemaker. When the additional 2 leads were insatlled, they have caused an occlusion in the vien. My left arm turns a redish color when hanging down below my heart. I have had a doppler and vinograph which were negative for a clot but the occlusion is there by the leads. I have no pain in my arm or numbness. I am on warfarin. Has anyone else had this problem? Will it clear up overtime as the leads settle in? My doctor has told me that...

upgrade to biventricular pacemaker

well i went to st thomas on 3 feb to have my upgrade and i hate to say it from the start i had complications.
They put some dye to see if my coronory sinus vien was open and it was so they had given me sadation and started to take my old pacemaker out that i had for 3 years and it was agony to the point were i told them to stop at that point they gave me morphine and more sadation and i fell asleep when i woke 2 hrs later they still hadnt put the 3rd lead in. the veins they found everytime...

Complications during replacement surgery

This is my first time on this website. I originally had a pacer implanted in 2001 for neurocardiogenic syncope. I was 21. I just had it replaced along with a new lead put in because the old lead was faulty. There were numerous complications during the surgery (that last almost 4 hours), the biggest being finding the actual pacemaker to replace it. Hello,
I have only had a pacemaker/defibullator for a month. It has been complication after complication for me. The first night after implanting I awoke with horrible chest pain. After sugery complications

1 had a pacemaker inserted 3 days ago and am still in pain. Even tho' I had to have it redone the next day. Not the pain on the insertion site but I have pain in my back and chest and find it hard to breathe deeply. I feel that I have palpatations also.

I was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms after their op? I have to say I am a little worried about it but would feel a nuisance calling the hospital as I was only discharged yesterday. Can you help?

panic attack

I am on my second pacemaker in nine years. Medtronic is the best.When I had my heart attack the next day I went in Sudden Cardiac Arrest. After five jolts of juice & luckly to be in Cardiac Care Unit when it occured. I lost a little oxygen & since I have panic or anxity spells. I do not like large stores,lot of selections of items or speak in public. This one was odd to experience since I am a Librarian & spoke at schools, historical clubs etc.

My head is spinning

3 different doctors, 3 different opinions. Neither doctor has a pacemaker so I am asking all of you that had episodes of heart block before your pacemaker!!!

When you had an episode what did it feel like? Did it feel like mine? I would feel a little dizzy, then I would feel my pulse and I wouldn't have one for a few seconds...then all of a sudden I would feel my heart RACE.

heart DR today,when he saw where the pc was at he knew it hurt.He said it may not of been put in right. and it would soon be threw the skin.
