Follow Up

I woke up this morning with a RHR of somewhere in the 114's -120's. Went to the Dr. and he said he had no explanation. That he wasn't sure what it could have been.

I had taken Xanax to calm me down in case it was panic but that didn't work. I told him that.

He is sending me back to the EP to get a second opinion and to see if there is something they missed...then I am scheduled to be put on another halter this Wednesday. My RHR at the office was 67!!!! I swear it's like wh...

Second pacemaker in 6 months

I have not posted in awhile. I have been off work since October. I had my first pacemaker placed in July 09. The cardiologist that did it, said he could not put in my second lead, since I had Persistent Left Superior Vena Cava, which is a malformation of the heart or a birth defect. I tried going back to work in August, and during my time back at work at that time, I left work 4 times to go to the ER. I don't remember how many times they kept me, because I was in the hospital so many times...

Hi to all, wishing you all well. I have had my little tin box for two years now...and for me i am glad to report that it has generally been without incident. My pacemaker was put in for intermittant total heart block. The reason for my poorly put question is over the last four months i have been up and down physically, i have had time off work and have been feeling the pm taking over more often. Before pm I used to collapse about once every six months or soand have not done so since pm...untill l...

need help

I have been having really high heart rates and heart rate is always jumping around. This has been going on for a while and last check-up with doctor he raised my atenolol which did not help. I have an appt scheduled for next month but over the last month is has gotten so much worse. I start feeling like I am going to pass out when it jumps around, It will drop from 150's to 70 (my pacer setting) and stay about half a minute then jump back up. It does this constantly some days all day long and ma...

Listen to your body

I had my dual chamber pacemaker inserted last September and posted a comment then about problems I was having - I was experiencing what felt like extremely strong heart beats from time to time but ended up thinking that it was just nearby chest muscles being activated. Even a discussion with the cardiologist's nurse (wasn't able to speak to him) resulted in no action. To cut to the chase, I finally fronted up to the practice in November and a check found that the ventricular lead was not posit...

Thanks to Frank and Pacemakerwriter

Thanks to Frank and Pacemakerwriter for your kind and professional help. I feel very grateful; I’m not alone to go through this issue. The third day and the firth day after my operation, I wrote to the Medtronic company, a gentlemen could say nothing and tell me to ask my doctor again and again. I felt hopeless. Finally I find the pacemakerclub; I read a lot of kind and thoughtful letter that made me tearful, this is the where I can rely on.
I’m live in Canada Ontario. We don’t have the i...

I need help

I had a Medtronic pacemaker implanted one week ago.
The second day of operation, I woke up after midnight I had been hearing and feeling heavy, thudding heart beats on my left front chest just under the implanted pacemaker, the rate was around 62 per minute. That made me hard to fall into sleep, when I got up the beating becomes undetectable.
The third daytime I experienced the same beatings during a nap and a walking. I thought I had to get used to it, some day it would go away. H...

R arm and chest lymphedema. ? pacemaker on left?

My mother, who is 78 and a 2 time breast cancer survivor, is needing to have a pacemaker. Her first radical mastectomy was before age 50 and on the left side. She has never had any problems with lymphedema on that side, then 15 years later she get a different (less aggresive) cancer and decides to have a radical mastecomy on the R as well. This time she has had lots of problems with the R side of her neck, chest, arm and hand swelling terribly. They have not been a normal size since her surg...

nerve ending

Pacemaker installed Nov.22,2009. Everything has been going well till this past weekend. I had pacemaker checked 1-08-2010. Everything checked out well. But on Sat. 1-09-2010 the place where the pacemaker was installed (left side just below collarbone) it became very very sensitive to touch and shoots pains down my left arm. It feels like nerve endings. Can this be and if this has happened to you what did you do??? This really bothers me. Thank you for any advice given. cjames

A Solemn Plea

I don't have a pacemaker, my dad does. I'm doing this as a favor to him since he doesn't know much about computers. It's hard to ask other for help. And I don't know how to say this without it sounding horrible.

My dad has had his pacemaker for about five years now, and he was worried about the battery running out since I think he uses it a alot. I called the nurses in Indianapolis and they tell me these batteries can last anywhere from five to seven years. This is a real worry for o...
