PM Club Website

Hi, Blake and other members.

I was just thinking...I know later this year that there will be some improvements made to the fuctionality of the site per the spring issue of The Pulse (chat room, photo gallery, private messages, list of abbreviations/terms and what they mean etc.)

Is it also possible to place links to the PM brands' websites? (Like St. Jude, Medtronic, Sorin Group, etc.) I am not sure if this is possible or if there are legal issues involved or not. I kno...

Medication Side effects

When I was first started on all the various meds I was put on, I went through and looked them all up and read all the side effects. I didn't stop with just one website either, because there is no telling who is sponsoring the information of any given website. I really looked and found out a couple of very interesting side effects of some regularly used drugs which no one talks about. I'm sorry that I did not note the URLs at the time for reference just keep digging though

PM info websights

Hi All,
I am recovering from a lead replacement last Thurs. I can occationally feel what I believe is pacing on the lower right side of the left side of my chest. I am not sure whether or not to be concerned about it. I will see my Dr. on Friday. I need to have more general information on PM's and I was wondering if there are any other websights that would help me to understand more about my PM. My Dr. is good about answering direct questions but most of the time I don't know what to a...

Bio-feedback

Reading some of the responses this morning; it was mentioned about how anxiety can cause some of the same sensations and symptoms as what some people believe they're PMs are doing.

Frank, you are so right on! Had to say that. Keep putting your two cents in because you make alot of sense.

My husband uses this particular analogy all the time, so I thought it would be germane to share it: You take your car in for a tune up. You have it worked on. Then when you get it back a...

Sensitivity

Just a quick question: I have had my PM for 4 months and I can still feel the "sensation" of having my heart rate increased for me. When this happens I tend to get a little nervous about things.

Does the anxiety thing stop and will I come to the place where I do not realize the PM is even actively working?

Thanks: tripastor

I'm lost!!

I am new to this and this is my first posting..my defibrillator was implanted about a month ago with absolutely no warning signs or previous indications or complications. I am also fairly young (30) and was so happy to find this website. Just to know there are other people going throught the same things. To make matters worse, my boyfriend broke up with me while I was in the hospital saying that he couldn't handle this drama. I lost all my friends (who I guess weren't really friends to begin wit...

Suggestions

Hi all,
I have some throbbing on my left side under my lowest ribs. Anyone else having this and would it be my AF that is the cause? My implant was last February; it has solved part of my feelings of fatigue but I do not have the energy I had expected. Anyone else like this? I still need padding to protect the implant;
does anyone find that it eventually becomes unnecessary?
I do not have the energy to exercise; I used to walk three miles a day. I may be my age, 84, so I might...

Ventricular Tachycardia

Hi!,
In the past you have been a great help. Thank you. I hope you can help me again. I had my pacemaker implanted in 2004, and I have third degree heart block. I just came home from the hospital with what my doctor says is "pacemaker ventricular tachycardia." I have had this before, my settings have been changed, but I continue to have this problem. My doctor seems unsure of what to do next. My question: Is this condition serious? Could I die from it? What do you think I could do about it...

thank you plus a new concern

i posted a little while ago about feeling a flutter in my chest and a number of people suggested it might be AF, well i just had my 2nd checkup and low and behold i have AF, so i wanted to send out a big thank you to those folks for their insight. I've also noticed the AF is much worse at night especially when relaxing and/or lying down.
the doctor put me on warfarin and is planning to shock my heart back into rhythm in the coming weeks-does anyone have any thoughts on this and will receivi...

Sleep settings help...

So far my recovery has gone well. I am still more sore then I expected but it is getting better. I have my follow-up appointment tomorrow with my EP and had a few questions. I have not been able to lay down and go to sleep since I got my PM. I have searched and read all of the posts about this problem with others so I was wondering what exactly is the feature called that I should talk to my EP about? Also, pre-PM I was running in the mid 20's at night. What range should the doc put me at for sle...

Inverter Microwaves??

Silly question time:

I know that a regular microwave oven is fine for PMs but if it's an Inverter Microwave is it safe too?

We bought one before all this PM stuff happened and apparently I told Hubby that the Inverter Microwave couldn't be used d/t my PM.

My memory has been affected by the surgeries, maybe stress and I just don't recall what/why I thought it couldn't be used.

Does anyone have an answer to this silly question? Tx.

Doing too much?

My name is Charlie, age 62, live in Nor Cal an hour east of Stockton, Sierra foothills about 1500 ft. I just found this website yesterday and joined.

I had an ICD installed on Saturday 17 May 2008. If was kind of an emergency since I fainted on Thursday. Actually my heart stopped for 6 seconds. I had a heart monitor on because I had fainted three weeks prior. From the monitor my heart was tachy/brady before I passed out on Thursday.

The Dr had me on 50 gm Meto...

Can dislocated shoulder pull leads?

Does anyone know anyone that has had a dislocated shoulder and pulled out a lead? I know you need to be careful for a few weeks after getting your electrodes in. I like to do a lot of serious whitewater kayaking, and I have dislocated my shoulder a couple of times when i've gotten really trashed. Also, I downhill ski a lot.

Just Curious! Thanks, Jim Jim

Bands & Pm

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if..going to a live band that plays very loud music can affect your Pm & Heart? My son plays in a band & I do like to go & listen to him I also like to hear others play. Last night I went to hear a band and after awhile...it seemed like I could feel every beat in my Pm...Is this possible? I sure hope not.
