PVCs

Okay fellow club members,
I need more help here... I have posted a few things I have been feelinf since my PM install. I now know there are two issues:
1) My lower lead likely has to be repositioned because it's stimulating a nerve. So, I'm getting that dealt with, no problem.
2) Some of my throat/squeezing sensations are likely caused by PVCs

Hi everyone, I'm new to your club. This will be my first posting. I had my pacemaker implanted on the 13th (thurs.) I still feel a bit weird, I was totally awake for the whole thing. Hi everyone - I am a 51 year old (was active) female who enjoyed riding and showing her horses....I had my PM on 09/10/07 came home two days later - ended up at ER last evening, because I was having some heart palpatations which scared me. Still here---saying hello

Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I was last on, so I wanted to write quickly.

I am not yet getting care for my SVC syndrome, but that may change soon. I am finally expecting to take a trip out of state for care on Sept. 21st. At the medical center I am headed to I am going past the EP and straight to a vascular surgeon to talk about my options. One of the nurses I've spoke to who set me up was surprised that a venogram had not yet been done.

Breathing Problem

About one month after I got the PM, I started having the urge to take deep breaths...not really short of breath but like I had to really suck in to get adequate air into my lungs. Been reading about PM leads hitting nerves and wondering if this could be the problem. Happens off and on for no reason. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

I have just had my pace maker implanted on Wednesday and experienced pain in my center chest every time I took a breath the first day after. Today is better, but still fill pain when I breath deeply or get winded (i.e. walk up stairs). Is this normal?

Leads hitting a nerve???

I was just at the local Pacer Clinic getting checked because of "issues" I have brought up in this forum previously (quick squeezing feeling, coughing, strange feeling in my neck, etc.) My Tech brought in a second Tech to check me out too. It appears that my Ventricle lead is likely stimulating a nerve!?!?! They could actually feel little spasms every time they made the lower lead (ventricle) work AND I could feel it in my chest and throat!!!

Should I keep pestering the doctors?

I am 49 and very fit, doing lots of exercise each week. For the last 18 months I have experienced dizziness, shortness of breath and fatigue, which is most unlike me. It doesn't stop me doing anything, in fact a vigorous game of squash often makes me feel loads better. My symptoms come and go. I can feel absolutely normal for a few weeks and then feel really lethargic for a few days, or even up to 3 weeks.

Update on Maureen's husband.

Hello all you good people.

Maureen e-mailed me, and asked that I post an update on her husband's condition.
John had by-pass surgery yesterday, and is still in critical care, because he has a low blood pressure. If he does better tomorrow, they will move him to a room.
They had him sitting up, and dangling his legs, over the side of the bed already.
She says that he looks good, but he is in a lot of pain, and they were giving him Tylenol, which wasn't helping.

WELL I WENT IN AND GOT MY STRESS TEST AND OF COURSE MY HEART RATE WAS DOING GOOD BELIEVE IT AND I SHOULD BE THANK FULL BUT, HE STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. New 3-leads pacemaker..?

Hi everyone!
I am new here...and looking for some answers.
My AV-node was ablated about 5 years ago. I have a dual pacemaker and I am totally dependent.
I heard about some kind a new pacemaker with 3-leads. The third one is there as a backup in case of malfunction.

Stress Tess

I continue to learn about life with a pacer. I am 5 weeks post op and pretty much all things have returned to normal. The only thing that still bothers me is my left arm. It still has a little pain form the shoulder jount down and there is still a numb spot of about a 3 inch circle on my upper arm on the outside. Hopefully this will go away.

pm and ambulances

i have a rather strange question but would be grateful for any thoughts. can being a passenger in an ambulance have any adverse effects on the pacemaker. i have recently been travelling as a passenger in a ambulance on a weekly basis accompanying my husband to hospital for his treatment. the round trip is three hours. when i get home im dizzy,lightheaded and feel as if im going to pass out this can last for 24-36 hoursand am fine again until next trip.
