New to group

Happy Holidays All!! Just found this group and thought I would post. I am a 47 year old female who was implanted in June of 2006 and had a cardiac ablation the next month. I was diagnosed with tachy/brady syndrome and atrial fib. I was born with Tetrology of Fallot which was corrected in 1973 and Dr. thinks is the reason for the other issues now.

Do you have any

ideas on how to get over a start of a cold before christmas? Although it could be allergies with this crazy weather. We had thunderstorms this morning. It was in the 50s where it is usually in 20- 30s.

Baby, it's cold outside! <:-)

Hello from Nebraska USA! I drove up today from our home in Kansas and it has been a beautiful day! The storm from Saturday left about 10" inches of snow on the ground and I was happy to leave it behind. The cold weather and I don't get along! However it is just as cold here in Nebraska. We are here visiting the Grandkids! Yes, they are each one beautiful!

I would like to say that I am so very, very thankful for the wonderful year I have had. 2007 has proved to be a life changing...

I have had my pm for a month. I was taken by ambulance to hospital with complete heart block so am totally reliant on pm. The recovery seems slow but keep moving forward. I have noticed that when I bend over I feel light headed. Do any of you have this happen.

Merry Christmas to all

Happy Holidays!!!

I wish to extend warm wishes for a happy holiday season and a healthy new year to all members. I will be travelling over the holiday season (visitiing family) and will have limited access to the Internet. If you email the club or post a message for admin, it may be a few days before you get a reply.

I'm in need or some rest and relaxation. Thanks to my device, I've been real busy at work, home and the shopping malls in December :-)

Happy Holidays,

Blake

Warming Hearts

Hello NUKA, you are an inspiration to me. I live in Kansas US and I work downtown. We have a lot of homeless people here. Many of them are Veterans. I will purchase Brand New Socks and I will hand them out as I pass the homeless on the streets. I will tell them that the socks are from a friend her name is NUKA!
God Bless you!
Merry Christmas!!
pacergirl
p.s. for all the worriers out there yes, i will be careful, I see these people everyday, and I will take a friend along.

Warming The Heart

Hi All,
I hope you will forgive me for sharing a little story with you that has nothing to do with my PM...or yours in fact. lol

We live in Winnipeg, Manitoba where the winters are usually brutal. We are terribly worried about the homeless and how they must be struggling for survival. My spouse and I contacted our children and asked them to bring $10.00 each so that we could buy new warm socks to give to our street people. This would allow us to buy about 25-35 pairs.....and they...

New Pacemaker!

I had a new pacemaker installed a little over 2 weeks ago and want to know (since it is so ugly) if I can put cream on the whole area now or so I have to wait to call the doctor....This is much larger than my old one and is the size of a pack of cards and the scar which is not healed yet looks like I have been gored by a tiger.....Would appreciate any information. Also, every once in awhile it gives me pacemaker type hiccups or slammers to the pacemaker as I call them, not real hicupps. Thanks....

be nice

i thought that i would say a few words to you guys. parents and kids need to spend more time together because some kids that i know say that they don't spend enough time together. i want parents to think that we are special and we need special care of us. my parents don't think about how gifted i am but i make them realize that i'm worth something. i love them but they act like jerks sometimes. but they love me and i love them and that is all that matters.

Snow shovelling...

You guys who live in the sunny south will without a doubt never have to worry about the answer to this question - but; we here in the great country of Canada definitely do. How many people with pm's shovel, and how do you feel after?

Keep smiling all & Merry Christmas....

New type of ICD with no wires

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this.
While at my last visit to my Cardiologist I asked him about new technologies on the horizon for ICD's. He told me that in a few years ICD's won't even have leads anymore. They are apparently coming out with a technology where they somehow screw or attach a bullet shaped device (that's how he described it) into the heart and it communicates wirelessly with the box in your chest. This supposedly will eliminate any problems with broken...

Marisab... A SHINING STAR!

Marisab..... You are still a shining star.... You always will be to me. I can see that you have quite a lot to deal with here. Stand tall, be proud and know I am backing you up. I value your opinions and I too seek to understand. I know the situation has come to where people are saying you are judgmental but I don't believe that for one minute! I realize that many young children have pacemakers for many different reasons. I also realize that there are different techniques as there are pacemak...

I am a tad bit concerned about one of the pacer person [username removed by admin]. NO OFFENSE OR ANYTHING. I am 14 iIve had 8 surgeries not only do 2 pacers but lead replacements to (due to the fact that kids grow, therfore, their leads cannot work properly). Now [username removed by admin] has said she has gone through 1 surgery. And has had a pacer since she was less than 24hrs. old, the math is adding up to me. I am not the only kid concerned or thing she is a tad bi weird,...
