I am just wondering if anyone else has had this happen
Every now and again 1 - 4 times a day I get a jolt in what I presume is my diaphragm - it jolts me about 3 times in a row. It has no correlation to exercise -
Has anyone else had this?
My nearest Cardiologist is 5 hours away and I don't feel like running to him if it is harmless

Tasers have now been introduced in the state of NSW Australia.
Already there has been an instance of use on a young girl in circumstances which seem to be completely not necessary.
Although I contacted current affairs programmes at two TV stations, I have had no response to my questions regarding the effect of a stun gun use on someone who has a pacemaker or a metal body implant e.g. knee replacement. Does anyone have any information on these matters please.
Phantom shock
I had read online somewhere about the phantom shock. It seems after you have received a shock, your brain may record this. In a dreamlike state you can relive it. It happened to me the other night. I'm sure it was a dream, because if your ICD ever fires,it isnt something you have to wonder about. It sure did disturb a good nights sleep. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how often.

I am looking for a wrist heart monitor that will work with my pacemaker. I have a partial AV block. I have tried a few and they just don't give a read out or they give a false one. I can't seem to find anyone who can help including my doctor.
I used one before the PM and would really like to again. Thanks Bob
If you have any info. Please email me at: robessa1@yahoo.com

Am having to take BioFirm to help with my intestinal probs. 100% herbal and am drinking loads of water.
When you have a pacemaker am I right in hearing that you need to keep hydrated. Not sure whether I got this right or not.
Be grateful for advice.
By the way Smitty and Electric Frank you were right with your advice and it gets loads better as time passes and I do believe I trust this pacemaker more and more.
Cheers for all your support in the past.<...

Hello, I have had a guidant pacer since 2000. At the phone and dr appts the battery reading would at first show full. Then after about 5 years it started to go down and was about half. Then suddenly it showed full battery again. I was told that this was "natural" if a gas tank does that you know something is wrong. Any way I kept after everyone and they would say look at the printout it is full don't worry about it. To make a long story short. Eventually, a guidant tech actually saw tha...

I am still undecided about a PM (and a fibrillator), My question here is is a beta blocker necessary. I first experienced beta blockers about 15 years ago for another medical problem and was rendered pretty much impotent. I was getting better over time, but am 69 years old (although in great physical condition). Will a PM improve my sex life (viagra and cialis don't have much of an affect) ? Thanks.

Hello, Everyone
My son recently graduated and was going to school and getting his degree in Process Technology but we recently were informed that most chemical plants or refineries won't hire him with a pacemaker. Does anyone have a recomendation on what direction he should go, he is an average student. He needs to be a full time student for my insurance to cover his medical bills. He is going on 9 years with a pacemaker.

I'm thinking about posting a new picture of myself with my new Bling! I would like to ask if anyone else would like to post pictures of their unique bracelets. It would be very interesting to see how the Pacer Chicks and the Guys sport their Bling!
I think this could be fun, all it takes is a digital image, an arm with a bracelet and some clever photography! he he Just think of the fun we could have with this.... We could call it "What does your Bling say about you?" hee hee. I will g...

Just wondering if you can have withdrawal problems from beta blockers. I've been on them for a good 10 years and now they have me stopping all meds for good to see how I react, so are there problems with this that I should be looking for. Thank Stacy

Are any of the pacemaker manufactures working on pacemakers that will allow us recipients to have an MRI? I heard that this type of pacemaker is being worked on.
