hi its me again!!!!
i had my pacer since march 13th i had it because my heart rate drops to the 30,s and poss lower?? before i had it i was unwell all day everyday with dizzyness headaches just general nt well. and im still feeling the same. after reading messages on this site went to the cardiac dept and ask them to check the pacer to make sure it was working ok which it is. so i then ask if any changes can made with the settings and he really didnt want to change anything..so i came home...

What an informative website. Found it a couple of weeks ago and see lots of support!

I had my pacemaker for Bradycardia. I had it since April of 2005. I pace in the upper chamber 30% of the time. I had one lead fall within the first week, but they changed the end of it to make it stick or grab better.

Also see that others here had a sore or burning scar, I did too, but it got better with time. I also went through a little depression with this new hunk of metal in me....

Newly Wired

I had my pacemaker implanted 6 weeks ago. What a help this website is to me. I thought I was alone with some of my feelings.
I am still getting used to the new device. I feel like my heart is racing sometimes, since I wasn't used to this fast a heartbeat. I am also having problems with low blood pressure, but I think that is the medication. I am not suppose to have another check until June. I was hoping to feel more get up and go by now. Getting on top of it all

It has been really sad not to get away to see Kay etc. But I always believe things happen for a reason. We had visitors from London overnight. Friends of my sister. Talk about a burst of energy. skipped beats

its been 0ne week since my PM was placed and i'm experiencing skipped beats, i'll have a run of about 30 beats then a run of about 3 or 4 of beats/skipped beats(b,s,b,s,b,s) before PM i was experiencing a missed beat every 4th beat and once too often sustained VT. I had an ablation to correct VT and ended up with 3rd degree heart block. So was wondering will this go away as the heart heals or should i be concerned? I'm also on atenolol and verapamil (pre and post PM)

Bluetooth

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know if the bluetooth interferes with the pacemaker ? NJ now has a law cell phones must be "hands free". When the doc put on pacemaker in 2002, he said manufacturers were not sure of interfere of the cell phone, so he told me to talk on opposite side of pacemaker. Now with the law, has anyone heard about the bluetooth ?

Day 2 with the pacer

Hi again,
I guess I'm an official member now. Surgery went well. They thought they were going to have to go back in and make the wire longer because when they took the xray standing up it looked like the wire was dislodging. They did a bunch of diagnostic testing in a bunch of different positions and decided it was fine. It is day 2 with my pacer. This has been the 2nd morning I have woken up with a hert rate of 50 rather than 30. What a relief. I have to admit I am pretty sore. Ho...

Insomnia and Light headed

Hi

Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced insomnia. I go to bed feeling shattered but as soon as the light is out I cannot sleep. No particular reason, PM is behaving.

Any suggestions ?

Also I know my blood pressure goes low but awful light headed today, also any help would be gratefully received.

Returning to work.

Hi Just read your message and I also have had an ablation and am l00% dependent on my pm for my lower heart to function. I dont know from your message how long it has been since you have received your pm for I know they tell you to lay low for 6 weeks after it is done. I kept mine in a sling for that long even at night. Need for definitions/acronym list?

Especially as it seems many folks come to this site needing very basic information - I think it would be good to create a place to capture and store such information. Probably under "Information" as a section of "FAQs". Has this been discussed in the past? There is the search function, but I think we need a simple place to look up the meaning of terms many of us use in the posts. Maybe it could be handled ala Wikipedia with any of us free to help provide the words?

returning to work

i just received my pacemaker(dual chamber) was in for an ablation to correct VT and things didn't go exactly as planned and am now 100% dependant in the lower chambers of the heart. i was so greatfull to stumble upon this site, it has given me so much information.
