My cardiologist had concerns about my 3month old pm having a loose lead, and x-ray results came back. My pm is securely anchored with necessary slack (for my swimming) With ten children and 23 grandchildren praying for me, it had to good! So happy that I posted a picture this morning taken Christmas about 40 years ago with my family. I am holding the youngest. Thanks to all of you for all your positive thoughts. They have helped so very much. Christmas Eve I will be celebrating my 80th birthday,...

First I have LQTS and am going through genetic testing. Second I have dilated cardiomyopathy. I new I had a enlarged heart just didn't know what it was called tell I we...

Suddenly I said I gotta get out of here I feel funny in the chest. Brian said the machine had powerful magnetos. It took me all of halof an hour to settle down. Anyone able to help me over this.?

Hey Everyone,
So I just wanted to let you know that I am getting ready to have Surgery #6 in January. This time it has nothing to do with my heart, amazing isn't it.
During a routine check up they found another Birth Defect called Intestinal Malrotation. To prevent me from having an emergency operation to fix this if my gut ever turns they decided to fix it now.
I honestly thought I was all done with Surgery and any medical problems when I had my pacemaker put b...

Hey all,
I have a question about returning to work after surgery. My dr. mentioned I could go to work the next day after surgery if I wanted. I want to take things slow as I'm sure I'll be very sore, so I'm taking five days off (six if you include Christmas) plus the weekend. My job is pretty sedentary (I'm an accounting supervisor), but I will have folders to carry back and forth. What experiences do you guys have with going back to work that soon? Did you feel motivated to work...

Hello pacer friends... I am not so good today... ;-(
I have been reading the wonderful post of caring and support this morning and it brings me comfort. I am sicker with the flu than ever before. It is getting better today... at least ... let's just say the tummy part has subsided for awhile.
It brings me to a question... Has anyone been really sick with the vomiting and had their heart go completely mad for a few minutes? Mines does then I get really dizzy and want to faint. I don...

I was just curious, after having surgery has anyone gotten stress in the back of their neck? And it causes you to feel lightheaded? Not sure if that is the cause, but just curious.

Hi Everyone,
I have just had a remarkable day.... I had to go to the Docs for a blood test quite early.... and the staff at desk were so pleasant and kind ..then in to see the nurse who stabbed me with a needle about 3 foot long and she was a gentle as a kitten ..and I thought how pleasant it restores your faith in mankind....
I came home and read my mails from my pacerfriends which is what I live for these days.. and then jumped on my mobility scooter and down to the post office...
What a view...

Cathryn! I am in awe that you see these whales in your own backyard! For those of you who are wondering what on earth I'm talking about, check out the member gallery and see Cathryn's picture of the Orca whales. Holy cow-- where do you live and when can I move there? You must feel like you're on an adventure every day! How beautiful!

Does anyone out there have a Biotronic two lead pacer that is a result of an Av ablation for atrial fib. and palpitations that requires 100% dependency? I dont read much about anyone who is 100% dependent. Kind of scary. Also with the pacer came a night monitor that checks it every night. It is right by my bed. Thanks in advance. DD

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
