thumping exact time every day

Hi all, I am new here. My mother is 72 and just had a PM implanted 3 weeks ago. She has noticed that she feels like her heart has tapping or a thumping every day. The strange thing is that it happens everyday at the exact time 8:50am and then maybe one or two more times a day. The doctor keeps checking the PM and says everything is normal. It don't hurt her but she is very concerned. Does anyone know anything about this?
Thank you in advance.

Visiting the dentist

Hi everyone, just a quick question. I have had my PM for about 7 weeks now and I was supposed to see the dentist about a cavity and they said they wouldn't see me until I had my PM for 6 months. Has anyone had that happen? What would be the risk at the dentist office? Any words of wisdom? Thanks, Jean

Definition of Heart Failure!!

Here I go again, researching! But this time I found an article I can actually understand....yippee.

What is heart failure?

Heart failure means your heart muscle does not pump as much blood as your body needs. Failure does not mean that your heart has stopped. It means that your heart is not pumping as well as it should.

Because your heart cannot pump well, your body tries to make up for it. To do this:

Your body holds on to salt and water. This incre...

I´m glad to have you here - thanks a lot ;-)

Hi to everybody :-),

I would like to tell you that I read really a lot on this web site and it´s the best site for me now, because I know that I am not alone here with the PM device in my age (22).

I tried to find someone on the internet with PM from the Czech Republic and it is quite difficult, because we haven´t got a site like this but I think and still hope that I will find somebody later. But I am very glad to have you here - it´s nice to know that I can tell you what...

Medtronic PM Settings

I'd like to know what the settings mean. I got a printout from the EP Technician, but she does not want to take the time to explain everything to me.
What she told me was the PM is doing atrial pacing 98%, the ventricular lead is turned OFF. Don't know why, because they told me the reason for the PM was my resting heart rate was too low, and the heart pauses; so the PM was put in to maintain the low heart rate. But, I feel that the PM is working all the time, even when my heart rate is over...

Help! :( PM Newbie

I recently had a pacemaker inserted (Friday, today is Tuesday) after having a syncope monitor show why I was passing out 3-5 times a day. It all happened so fast I had the monitor inserted and a week later they told me I needed a pacemaker and 3 days after that they removed the syncope monitor and put the pacemaker in.

The Surgery didn't go well because they had trouble sedating me and numbing me so I felt a lot of pain. And was in tears through the last part of the surgery and hours...

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
