Hello Fellow Pacers,
I had previously posted about a report I received that indicated I experience an average of two episdoes of pacemaker mediated tachycardia daily. Since I had never heard of that term before, I asked for advice from this group. It was suggested that I contact my EP Clinic about getting my settings changed.
I had my clinic appointment yesterday and the tech adjusted the PVR from 225 to 325 and I had a positive retrograde test at 286 milliseconds. Hopefully this...

Has anyone had the feeling of a intermittent pulsing feeling or that something is bouncing in your chest? It sometimes happens while just sitting or brushing my teeth, or walking sometimes. My pacemaker was inserted 4 weeks ago.
Feel sick on slightly bumpy road

I've only had the atrial lead in my pacemaker for a week and in a car on a normal road I get a lump in my throat and mild nausea. On a bumpy road I feel very close to being sick with that nauseous feeling on the sides of the jaw and under the tongue as well as throat pressure.
The specialist says there are only two settings, and the other setting is for old people. I'm guessing that means they turn down the maximum rate from the current 130bpm to 100bpm....

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. On Wednesday I had a Medtronic Azure pacemaker implanted. I requested they place the pacemaker under my pectoral muscle so that it didn't interfere with swimming and also requested the pace me at 50 while resting and 170 for the high with an aggressive response rate (4 on the scale of 1 to 5) for running. My pre pacemaker healthy resting heart rate was 48 prior to dropping to the mid 30s. They also set my sleep heart rate to 40 between 10p and 5a.

Passed out last May and my heart stopped for 14 seconds. Was diagnosed with sick sinus. Around the winter months of last year I started having syncope episodes again. I started tracking them in January and have had six episodes. All of them are between 7:43am and 12:01pm. I no longer pass out but depending on the sererity of the episode it can take 30 minutes to recover. My Cardiologist had me wear a monitor for two weeks and I had an episode, My blood pressure dropped to 89...

I had my pacemaker put in 2019. I am having muscle pain in the left side where my pacemaker is. Some times it feels like just an ache. Sometimes are worse than others. But I bring it up with my cardiologist and it's just disregarded as muscle pain. But it gets painful and concerning. I can massage it and can help with the pain, but once I stop it hurts again. I've done nothing to extend or injure it, but does anyone else have pain in the muscle. Sometimes it will go to my arm and upni...

Random question.. did anyone experience side effects or issues as a result of the solar eclipse today?
I am asking because I felt my pacemaker or heart racing for about 1 min. during the eclipse and found it super strange.

Hi guys,
I'm grateful to be here. 1st post. Got my PM installed on 14 March 2024 and have had a slew of problems and looking for advise:
Timeline:
- 1 March diagnosed with AV block. HR at night dropping down to 26 BPM (eek!)
-14 March 2024: Initial PM implant.
-21 March: Wound check no problem. Felt great.
-25 March: Lead falls out and is giving me muscle spasms in my diaphragm. No explanation as to why. I had been walking at my own pace with...

My cardiac doctor ordered a heart CT Scan for me which I had on April 1, 2024, after the pacer clinic accidentally turned my 100% pacer off during my yearly screening causing cardiac arrest again, and could not restart my pacer. Trip to the ER who restarted my paver.
Angiogram Results:
1. There is stable prominence of the ascending aorta measuring approximately 4.3 cm in diameter.
2. There is a 2.4 cm nodule in the right lobe of the thyroid. A dedicated th...

Not sure who to talk on this. But right after I got my 2 lead pacemaker installed, I started have these electrical charges start at the heart or right at the pacemker. The charges goes across my body and then down to the bottom of my hips or all the way to my feet. My fingers tingle and I have problems making my fingers move correctly or hold on to something in my hand. I feel these electrics shocks many times an hour. It is especially hard electrics shock w...

Hello,
I received a 17-page report on the status of my dual chamber Biotronik pacemaker for sinus node dysfunction for the period of early October to the present. Though the report is quite complex, a few things jumped out at me. My atrium is pacing at 61% and my ventricle less than 1%. My settings are 50-110. My average heart rate is 68. I'm taking 12.5 mg of metropolol in the morning and 200 mg of acebutolol in the late afternoon.
I'm averaging 4 PVCs per hour and...

Hi! Got PM 5 years ago, have had flutter/AT since off and on. Yearly checks. 3 weeks ago I went to ER with 230+ bpm. Stayed 2 days, began Sotalol, doubled irbesartan and continued recent 5 amlodapine. Ablation scheduled 4/6. Then 2 weeks later bp shot up 178/104, sitting doing nothing. ER again, this time for observation and days later were able to do "successful CS OS Focal Atrial Tachycardia ablation".
Question: bp running significantly lower 2...

Hello everyone!
I have been reading so many posts on this forum since I found out I would need an implant about three weeks ago for sick sinus syndrome. Implant was placed on March 4th. I have been recovering at home but have experienced some issues. Since the surgery my heart rate has been much higher than before the surgery. About 15 beats across the board higher for sleeping/sitting/standing/walking. I went back to the cardiologist yesterday and my heart rate was 115 sitting and my B...

I came down with Covid the second week of February. Looking back, the first symptom was a fast heartrate. It felt so strange, I grabbed my little pulse/ox meter. O2 95, HR 100. I'm pacemaker dependent, so a resting HR of 100 gets my attention. It stayed elevated about a minute then went back to the set minimum of 70. The same thing happened 3-4 times over the next several hours.
I woke the next morning definitely feeling unwell, took a Covid test and was positive. I was given Paxlov...

What is your experience with hard/physical labor jobs that have a lot of arm movement and lifting heavy objects? Does this cause pain/swelling over the site or problems with leads detaching? I'm worried that it will affect my job, my E.P said it's all good but I struggle with swelling and some discomfort after a long day and I haven't even started working yet...

Hi
I got my 6th (I think 🤣) pacemaker in October.
come February (about 4 months after device change) the same leads were used. I noticed that my pacemaker has gotten lower (maybe an inch or a bit more) I can also see the outline of one of the leads from under my skin near the scar (which wasn't visible prior)
this has never happened with any of my other devices.
this last device change the doctor said one of the leads had damage to the insulatio...

I got my pacemaker in June 2022 at 16, and ever since I have swelling over the pacemaker site at the end of most days that leads to slight numbness in my arm and discomfort. Does anyone else have a common experience and is this normal? I'm studying as a chef and I'm worried it's going to influence my work in the future. Any help is appreciated!

I had a new pacemaker in November 2022. My nightime resting pulse (rhrough my ear) is 39, although pacemaker is set to 60. With my old pacemaker the same pulse was a rock-steady 60. I feel fine. Should I be concerned?

My old Paemaker and leads were removed and two new leads installed 2/6/24. During lead removal, the lead broke and they had difficulty getting it out. During the process, the Tricuspid valve was damaged and I am experiencing extreme fatigue and dizziness. They wanted me on lasix, but my blood pressure is low and I don't want to risk of it going even lower. I want to seek immediate repair and meeting with cardiologist tomorrow. Does anyone have a recpmmendation as to the m...
