Hey guys ! 2 things;
How are the usual suspects - I miss you and there are a few I haven't heard from in a while..... just checking y'all ok! and sending usual fluffy hugs and lurve to my regular pals!
Well, as some of you know I started a job in January working 5 days a week in a local school, sitting in class with 'special needs' kids.... BUT.... I am having to reduce my days down to 3 days per week as I am soooo tired. My G.P. kinda said that I will have to 'live' w...

Hi Everyone,
I've had 2 ablations and a sinus node modification 1 year ago for SVT's...Not to complain, but I feel my heart rate gets almost to slow now...Here's my main concern, since the last procedure (maybe just a few times a month) I would feel like my breath was being sucked out of me...Then it started to happen almost hourly for the last week. After a 24 hr. monitor, I was having 2.5 sec. pauses. My cardio Dr and my EP Dr both think its ok even though I've told them I can't bre...

Ok, I have had my ICD since 4/06 and had a rough start the miss readings and being shocked when it wasn't needed but I just got informed that my battery will be dead within the year and have the lead wire that has been recalled and need to have it removed. My dr said this is very life threatening and has really scared me, I am no stranger to surgeries as I have had 3 open heart and several other minor ones but the fact that my dr seems to not be very confident is bothering me the most. Has anyon...

Could this site be having such a positive impact that healing has been "helped along"? When I found this site I was at the bottom of discouragement and ready to saddle up and ride into the sunset. The physical therapyist adn massage therapyist had done a lot to loosen the muscles and tissues around my pacer which was of course adding to the pain. After reading some of your postings and deciding to just stop everything and wait for the scheduled revision date. By the second day, the soreness had...

Hi guys, I have just returned from a weekend getaway with my hubby.
If it weren't for my pacemaker I wouldn't have been strong enough to make the trip. If it weren't for my pacemaker I would not even be around anymore to do anything.
I used to wonder about some things... life, living, dying and whether I deserved to even have my awesome husband. Well I have come to the realization that I do deserve these things.
I was growing a wee bit nervous about the upcomi...

I'm feeling good today. It's not because my heart is beating normal or my meds are working properly. I feel good because my 13 year old son started to work out today. He's been getting bullied at school lately. I've been through the same thing myself when I was his age. I could write a book on being bullied. At a very young age I started to lift weights so I would no longer be bullied. It did wonders for my self esteem not to mention after a while I could squash my antagonizers like bugs...

I've had my PM (his name is Bob!) for a whole year now! It's not been the easiest year of my life, by any stretch of the imagination, but in a weird way Bob has been the most loyal friend to me by far.
I had to go to A&E two weeks ago (in an ambulance car on blue lights, which in any other circumstances would have been fun lol) because my heart was racing, but the doctor said I was in sinus tachy, my heart was going at 130-140bpm. When I saw the technician a few days later, he said m...

I have had my pacemaker for two months now and everything is going good with the PM itself. I did have quite a bit of pain after the surgery. Now I have pain above the site which I am presuming are the muscles healing. It also burns in that area. Also, I can feel discomfort around the complete circumference of the pacemaker. I was wondering if this is a "normal" situation which has been experienced by other members of this bionic club? Any comments??? Thanks!

They have some really pretty new multi-strand bracelets, and they finally added new colors to the leather bolos. I looooove my black bolo and have been wanting a brown one. Coupon code RAINBOW gets 20% off your entire order.

Ok...I'm 3 weeks post op on my 1st ICD. I now have 3 dissolvable stitches coming up...which is not a big deal, but....the bottom one now is looking red. The incision was doing great, but now is starting to hurt in several places. It also has a couple of small knots under where the stitches are coming up??? I had staples on the outside and those were removed 8 days post op.
I do have to say....I CAN now sleep laying down and the pocket pain is SO much better. PRAISE the LoRD! I h...

Hi Everyone.
I heard from Tammy and her Mom both yesterday and today from Tammy herself. She asked that I pass this along....
This is from Feb 27: I just got out of surgery. It went well but I hurt a lot. I don't feel up to giving more of a update but I will let Mom do so. This is Mom: surgery started later due to another woman needing emergency surgery. Tammy's surgery started at 6:15 p.m. and ended at 8:10 p.m. Dr. wanted to make sure everything was in the right s...

Hi. I was just wondering....when someone has a slow heart rate and needs a pm, how does the doctor know what to set the resting rate at? For instance why is my resting rate set at 80 bpm and someone else could be 60 or 70?

Two questions about sleeping!
Firstly, I understand that some cardiologists recommend avoiding sleeping on your left side as the position puts slightly more strain on the heart than right side or on your back. Anyone heard of this?
Secondly, It is now being said that too littlle sleep is particularly bad for heart failure patients. I think I get about 5 hours at night, with about three spells of wakefulness in between.
I top this up with another hour of sleep dur...

Hi everyone,
A couple of questions.
My pm is set at 70 on the bottom & 120 top rate. I'm joining a gym & wondered what happens whenI go over 120?
It is running at 80% for the top chambers & 4% for the bottom ones.
Since I have had it, I'm plagued by excessive sweating, mainly my head. It drips off my face & is very embarrassing! Anyone know the reason for tyhis & whether anything can be done to change it.
Many thanks,
Lizzie
