Hello everyone,
I am one week post pm implant, 46 y.o. who for the past 2 years had passed out several times after exercising. I had a Reveal monitor placed in August and it only took a few weeks to capture the events that lead to the pacemaker. Diagnosis: Sick Sinus Syndrome. Fortunately I work with about 60 cardiologists so I have had great care. Just a quick question, I have a single lead in my atrium with a Medtronic device. It sometimes feels as though my heart is out of sync, is this...

Careful what you write.
I received a telephone call from one of my sons today telling me that he had seen something I wrote about my pacemaker experience on Google while he was looking for some information on pacemakers. Of course I had to check it out and found that some of our postings on the PM Club site do make it to Google for whoever to read. Frankly, that information made me think that I had better be sure of any replies I make. Since I normally run some amount of time behi...

Hi,
Last one month I am in dilemma. I was excessively sweating
when I was at physical job in my professional field. Reported the matter to Cardiologist. Feed back was fully dependant on PM. Reason was Stress, Anxiety and less exercise. Gone to my Home town. Shown to the programmer of Biotronik Dealer.
He also told the same thing. Doctor told after re chekups that I am suffering from cervical spondilitis. Due to that I am sinking
sometimes. After implantation I got some...

Hi! I just joined today. I've read some of the postings over the last couple weeks. I was under the impression that I'd be uncomfortable for a couple days or so, but have had several different pain problems, some of which have improved.
During the surgery something painful happened (I think it was insertion of PM) that woke me up + stopped my heart for about 20 seconds. Since then I've had sore throat/neck, armpit, breast, pacemacker pocket, and back..all on the left side. The throat/...

In my health class we are currently learning about how to preven heart disease and affects of obesity stuff like that. For some reason I'm angered about how people like my teacher keep talking about preventing heart disease and having to get things like a pm but i find it offensive how he doesnt tell how it could affect your family, or how 1 out of every 100 kids is born with heart disease. I just find my enraged reaction strange because i feel as if i should be saying something during the lesso...

Pacemaker, created in Minnesota, marks 50th birthday
Happy Birthday to the pacemaker, which turns 50 years old today.
By Tim Harlow, Star Tribune

A power failure on Oct. 31, 1957 that stretched from St. Cloud to Faribault, Minn. and eastward to Eau Claire, Wis. led to a conversation between University of Minnesota Medical School surgeon Dr. C. Walton Lillehei and Earl Bakken, the founder of Medtronic.
Lillehei asked Bakken to...

Hello everyone !
I had a pacemaker, a St. Judes placed in Aug 23 2007. Everything has gone well. I have been lifting weights pretty regularly very light and conservative with the blessing of my Cardiologist. On wed 31st of October I pushed it a little harder. Anyway as of last nite my left pectoral muscle every so often starts twitching, the muscle itself. It is visible to the naked eye.
My question is this...If I did some damage to the pacemaker, leads wires etc. would this be o...

Hi everyone,
Just had my first 3 months check of biventricular pacemaker.
Performed by St. Jude Medical technical consultant. Went very good. I told him I feel tired most of time and he said he would see what he could do. He made adjustments and then told me the following:
"Prior to 10/29 checkup device was not pacing in ventricular chambers now is pacing both chambers."
I do think I have more energy and hope it continues to improve.
Best regards to all, b...

Allan (41) edinburgh here three weeks today since pm implant
I spoke to my heart surgeon /doctor( on phone) about my racing heart and return episodes of afib. And he told me beta blockers maybe the next step and when i asked him about the abalation route he said that that would not be appropriate as having afib and sick synus syndrome with a pace maker it was more likely to be unsuccessful.
Only thing is i would really like to double check with my pm technician if my afi...

Hi to all, I have not been able to get on as often but wanted some input from some others. My energy level has finally started to gradually increase which is great my spasms are still intense and even more so lately.
Last night I experienced my usual spasms but they traveled across my scar area and for about three hours I sat in extreme pain and pressure over my pm. It felt like my pm even jumped up and down with each spasm I had. This was unusal as this has not happened before.

Thank you all for keeping me in your prayers for another computer. I just bought a new computer and it's feels great. I also bought a treadmill.
I have a question that you might be able to answer. I've been feeling my own heart beat and my pacemaker has been on stand-by. Has anyone ever experienced this and what should I do. It happens off and on during the day and when I sleep. Can anyone tell me what this is. I've been doing great with running and eating the right food. I ho...

Wondering if anyone out there has developed high blood pressure since getting a Pace Maker? Just a thought that occured to me. Never had high BP in the past but in the last few months it has been high. I take Toprol XL 100mgs for SVT and have for years which also lowers the BP. 2 months ago doctor put me on a drug called Atacand for high blood pressure. Started with 8 mgs. and then increased it to 16 mgs. Still taking the Toprol but when I had the prescription refilled the pharmacy gave me...
