Pacemaker firing

Hi, I had a dual pacemker implanted 2 months ago for sick sinus syndrome. The pacer is on demand and working less than 1% of the time. For the past three days the pacer is firing more often and I am feeling the pacing (very bothersome sensation). Is there anyone outthere with the same problem. My EP has not given me a straight answer. I want to know if this is something I have to live with or not.

1st Time Pacer,......Scared.

Hello All,

My wife is 30 years old and her EP performed several eblations 4 years ago due to acute tachy. Now she has Sick Sinus Syndrone, Arythmia (with pauses consistanty between 3-6 seconds), MVP, and sporatic blood pressure. She has passed out 4 times within the past month, believably because of her pulse remaining in the upper 30's while laying down and mid 40's while moving. Her EP wants to put in a single chamber pacemaker.

My wife's name is Amy, she is small framed...

New Microwave Oven

I am experiencing a little problem with the new microwave oven I just bought. After I unpacked the oven and placed it on the counter I took the time to read the directions, set the clock and placed a cup of water in the oven and turned it on. I was standing about 18 inches from microwave. My heart started pounding, flip flopping and generally scared me half to death. I backed away from the counter and it took me minute or two to recover. I later was cleaning up the kitchen and my husband came...

question

Has anyone ever had to have their pacemaker repositioned because they have lost weight. I have lost 65 lbs and my pacemaker is more prominent. It rubs on everything and I can feel it if I sleep on my stomach. I've had the thing for 4 years without many problems, but this is starting to bother me.

Problems with uploading today

Hello fellow Pacers,
Question for anyone.... I can't seem to upload any pictures onto the Member Gallery. I go through all the steps but then the picture never shows up!.... I am growing concerned that I am not following directions correctly. (I have been accused of this before hee hee)
Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Thanks, Pacergirl ;-)

need advise

Hi everyone,
I have just had my six month routine check up at the PM clinic.
The doc tells me that I am in Atrial Fibrillation 38% of the time.
The PM is working only 2% of the time. He wants to treat me with warfin(blood thinner) as a precaution for stroke and then do a direct-current cardioversion. Has anyone in the club had this proceedure and was it successful?
Any help or thoughts on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Gary

Worst months ever!

I was working and a graduate student until Labor Day. I have never felt the same since. After two hospital stays nobody seems to be able to give me a straight diagnosis. Still, I experience the following symptoms:
▪Terrible nights sleeping. I can feel my heart rate accelerate with any change in position. At times, feels like my heart is beating irregular, or pauses for a moment
▪Tired / fatigued. Some days I sleep all day
▪Significant drop in activity leve...

My 2nd. Birthday or anniversary.

I like to call it birthday because my pacemaker was like getting a new life. I just celebrated my 2nd birthday. I stayed at the same hotel I was at when I had my episode 2 years ago. That led to emergency surgery and my shiny new Medtronic. My wife and I had the dinner that we were going to have just before I got sick. That afternoon before dinner I had my 2 year check-up and all was basically well. My usage went up from 38% to 56% but it is only taking 3/4 volt of power to be paced the Doctor l...

localized pulsation

Has anyone ever experienced or heard of anything like this? If I sit hunched forward the muscles under and near my pacemaker unit pulsate. At first I thought it only a muscle twitch, but after several episodes (and other position changes are being added to my "list") I was able to assure myself it is an actual pulse - same rate as radial. I recently had the experience of being able to see it pulse through my clothing. I have been completely unsuccessful in finding information anywhere else....

heart hailure

I had a bi-ventricular pacer implanted on 07-09-07 also ICD. I have been pace maker dependent for almost 20 yrs. I pace upper chambers 85% and lower 100%. The implant did not go as well as they had hoped I only got one lead and the hope was that it would help pace the left ventricle in addition to monitoring the ICD. My ejection fraction remains unchanged after 3 months. The next step if I elect will be the chest leads applied directly to the heart. My ejection fraction is 20%.
Anyone out th...

Draniage part II

I would like to fill everyone in on my drainage problem that I wrote about earlier in the week. I know a few of us thought it was an infection...and so did I. I went to the hospital and they admitted me to cardiac unit, thinking it was a severe infection. They were going to take out my pacemaker let the area that was infected heal a and place a new pacemaker in on the otherside of my chest. Well, thank goodness they did several test and they concluded that I caught a skin allery from the tape th...
