I'm sorry I forgot to add to my comments about the jolts in the chest that my pacemaker has been checked several times by the Medtronics rep and the leads are working well and firing about 33% of the time. None of the jolts or any problems were picked up by the check. Strange????

Hi- I'm 4 months into my Medtronic dual lead pacemaker for bradycardia, slow heartbeat. The process has worked fine after the initial anxiety issues but recently have experienced what I call jolts to my chest (not electronic) as if someone punched me that makes my body jump up a bit. This only happens in the evening while laying down and reading or watching TV,. There is no pain, just a jolt or bump in the mid chest area.
I am on Metoprolol .25 mg.Has anyone experienced this and found out w...

I found this on DrugInjuryWatch.com - a blog I was kindly directed to by another member of this site. It is identifed as being the context of the March 21,2007 Dear Doctor Letter that Medtronics sent out.
... On March 21st, Medtronic issued a "Dear Doctor" letter concerning higher than expected conductor fracture rates with the Sprint Fidelis lead. The Sprint Fidelis is Medtronic's premium defibrillation lead. It is the first sub-7 french ICD to be released (St Jude Med...

tightness and sensitivity
Hi I'm new to this but lately I have been having a tightness in my chest and around my defibrillator I have also been very sensitive in my chest even when I wear a t-shirt I have to pull it away from my chest to get relief ,my cardiologist said it is because I have had two different bypasses and that I have damaged nerves from surgery,I was just wondering if this is normal! I had my first bypass in 1991 and second in 1993 but didn't think should stil sensitive after 14 years!!

Good Morning All,
I was just wondering if any of you have pain in your arm/neck after almost 1.5 mos. since pm implant. Last night it woke me up, I had a pain in my left arm (right where you would flex your muscle), and then a dull pain, but like a stinging in my left side of my neck. I also feel like my PM has moved up a little, closer to my collar bone. My GP says it is ok, but I'm wondering if maybe it is rubbing on one of the leads or something. I still can't sleep on my left s...

Hi All,
Just an updated from Indonesian.
Last Saturday I visited my EP for PM checking. Everything was going well and Rate Response feature was set OFF since my natural heart can catch up to 155bpm during stress/treadmill test.
Last month I drove my car to my hometown about 200km away to celebrate Moslem Iedul Fitri festive (aftef 1 month fasting periods). I seems impossible to be done without PM. Thank God and to all of you who support me at the beginning to join this site...

Hi Everyone
Just reading the previous posts regarding PM movement and weight, and wanted to say congratulations to Peggy and Belly321 with your weight loss well done!!
Future new pacer here with a quick question. Im 36, always battled with my weight, but since my complete heart block diagnosis 5 months ago, Ive been off work sick, told not to do anything that makes me dizzy or SOB (which even a short, steady walk brings on, so my gym membership is suspended). Consequent...

Hi,
I had my PM implanted 6/1/07 and have felt like it is helping alot. I have recently felt lightheaded ( almost like my eyes were dialated and everything was bright ) when I go into certain grocery stores. I know it sounds silly, but I'm wondering if those cooling cabinets, etc. are putting out a magnetic field that is affecting my PM. Anyone else ever had anything like this?
Thanks,
Jack

Well I wanted to say hi to everyone here. I've been reading along for a while now. In short I developed a crazy autonomic dysfunction a year ago (labile heart rate and blood pressure) lots of episodes of passing out or near passing out with heart rates in the 30's. I did have a period of around 6 weeks where my heart rate fixed itself (after having a seizure from crazy high blood pressure) but the rates came back down. Finally sick of feeling well.....sick all the time and am currently in hour 8...
Feelin' like a Weenie...
Gee, I thought I'd be 100% better by now ( 1 month post-op ), but seems I still have days I feel like a "Weenie" (Sorry Oscar Mayer no hard feelings). Anyway, I still have some days that I feel pretty anxious about all of this, especially since I must start back to work on Wednesday and I am a busy nurse.
I have days like today, that I have skipped beats (seems more prevalent if my GI system is acting up, where I feel kind of bloated, this in turn makes me feel a little SOB and am more awa...

Don, Thanks for the info. I just finished reading about someone else who had a similar problem and it too was a broken lead. I have always been concerned because my unit "flops" when I lay on my right side. I am calling the docs now. Thanks again.

The good thing about the recovery process is that it gives you a tiny slot of free time, which is the case here :)
Anyway, seeing that our pacemaker implant "birthdays" are just as equally important as our real birthdays (and b/c Bowlrbob's post reminded me of that [happy PM b-day by the way]), I hope to add this "PM birth date" to my previous regular b-day list. SO, if any of you would like me to add your PM implant date to the list, feel free to do so. The following pacers are on the b-...

I truly hope this does not offend anyone, but to me it is funny. Maybe it is because I'm just weird, more weird than any of you have suspected. If it is offensive to any of you, I do apologize.
