the good old days

hi live in a small town in s.w. ontario near the water. i once lived in toronto and i experienced a big city. to-day i went to the corner butcher and bought some meat . somehow he always takes care to wrap each serving carefully. i feel good giving him the business versus a big chain. we are now going to be hit with very expensive food and gas. why??? we make the gas here for god's sake.my son lives and works in the middle east. he pays 29 cents a gallon. why do we pay this senseless price while...

pacemaker is removed duane

just a update got home today operation was at 11.00 am got done at 11.20 am sent home at 1.30 pm everthing went well in taking out my pm and defib I'm sore as heck my whole side and shoulder area hurts but I'm taking some pain killer pills to help.
I asked the doctor if I could have the machine It is sitting in the other room in a plastic cup
I;m glad its over know and I will come here the same as before I"ve meet some interesting people here and talked to many nice paople to thank...

Follow Up...

Wow what a road I have been down over the past month. I appreciate the advice I have received here. Today I had a Tilt Table Test. I was passed out cold in less than 8 minutes. It would have been sooner if I wouldn't have convinced the man giving the test to unstrap my legs to allow me to bend them. They have diagnosed me with Neurocardiogenic Syncope and I show the signs of Heart Block but he feels these will go away if we treat the syncope. pacemaker removed may 1 2008

hello I just want to let everyone know that tomorrow is the big day i go to lincoln nebraska and my doctor miller is removing my pacemaker and defib for good i . i have a broken wire from the recall my heart % was under 10% now it is over 45% the normal heart is 50% they say and since it don't work I decided to get it removed I had it since december of 2005 and never had a issue with it except for when the wire broke and it went off 14 times

i had my one month after implant pacemaker check up and i told them i was still feeling very unwell and dizzy so the meditronic reps came in and did the check up. i heard them disscussing that they could see FARFIELD on my graphs what is that?? as stupid me forgot ask please help really want to know what that is.

Hi All,
I've been reading this forum for quite some time now and was very interested in the postings about Rate Response.
I have had a pacer for a very long time now and the rate response has always been turned on. Yesterday I went for my clinic appointment and mentioned I had been reading about it. Well, guess what? more "cable" than before......

I am 9 months post biventricular ICD implant. - Today I did a great deal of strenuous work - (I'm moving.....) tonight I noticed it feels as though there is more "cable" around the unit than before - as if I pulled it from somewhere (under the device?) by lifting and hauling so much. The area is tender (it always is when I push myself hard) - since mine doesn't regulate my pulse I can't tell if it's otherwise doing it's thing - (keeping things in synch - ) or not. changing the pace

hi everyone

i just wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem as i have. I went to the doctor recently. I actually met the doctor who created/invented the software for our pacemakers. He changed the rate to go faster when I do extra activity. When i greek dance or go up the stairs or anything that requiries heavy activity I tend to get shortness of breath to the point i couldn't breathe, i felt my heart was going to burst, it really hurt and i felt my heart out of sync. Warfarin for atrial fibrillation

I know this is a question I need to ask my doctor, but until I get a chance to ask, does anyone know how long people generally stay on warfarin (Coumadin) for afib? I had one episode of afib in December. As far as we know that was the first and only episode we are aware of. (My pacemaker event recorder has not recorded any since that one.) How long would I need to go without another episode before they might consider discontinuing warfarin?

Pacemaker turning

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had problems with there pacemaker turning on its side? Mine does this from time to time i have mentioned it to the dr's and there sems to be no concern i would think it could turn totally around and dislodge the wires maybe i am wrong but was wondering about this...thanks

Pacing Sensation

Over the last couple of weeks I've occasionally noted sensations of pacing. Always just a kick or maybe two and they seem to be entirely random. The feeling is identical to the kicks (but lower in intensity) I feel when the EP cranks up the PM voltage during periodic tests. I'm approaching my 5th month after implant and it seems odd that I'd suddenly begin feeling these. They are not painful and really not much of a bother, just a bit odd.
