MyCareLink Heart App

I had my pacer implanted in 2021. I use MyCareLink Heart as my remote tracker anyone else out there tha uses the same App on there iPhone. The app does for the most part work well but I do have one problem. On the dashboard of the app the is a tile for physical activity. It tracks for daily weekly and monthly. My problem is every 2-3 weeks it will go blank and after a day or 2 comes back. I like to see it and trust it. My fear is if it goes blank how am I to know the rest of the apps working....

Increase in atrial pacing

Hello, I had a 6 month pacemaker check back on October 5th. My atrial pacing had gone from 12% to 25% in that 6 month. However my bigger concern is the check I had today showed an increase from 25% to 48% in just under 2 months. I have not had any change in settings. I do have increased shortness of breath and tiredness. I plan on talking with my cardiologist soon but wanted to ask if anyone has experienced anything like this and what might have caused it. I feel like something isn't righ...

Ascending aorta aneurysm

thank You 🙏🏻 Gemita...Good Dog....BFCM23...USMC....Pacer... for your valuable input 🥰

I  follow all MEDICAL  interpretations on YouTube and that's valuable, but can't match lived experiences! Given that this ticking bomb is often discovered "accidentally " its even more important that we share the information 🙏🏻

I also learned that except-able parameters about Aortic Aneurysm are changing, as Medical Fraternities are al...

Adding Hyperlink to our editor

Hi Craig, (DoingMyBest) has asked how I add hyperlinks to our editor, these are the steps that work for me. I do all my editing and spell check/grammar (USA) in WORD first.

  1. Copy the link from the https bar.
  2. Paste into a WORD file.
  3. Place curser at the end on the line
  4. Hit return: This makes it a hyperlink and turns blue.

Save the WORD file.

  1. Leave the WORD file open
  2. Go to Pacemakers c...

Stress Echo

Greetings all.  I have a stress echo this afternoon at 1 pm.  They said not to eat 4 hours before so I don't throw up.  I've only had one before and was not pushed to the point of barfing.  Haha.  I'm tempted to eat some eggs soon as otherwise I might faint, not puke.
im wondering what y'all's experiences were like and if it might be ok to eat?

thanks!
Lulu

Mild ascending Aorta?

Hello everybody!

Back in March last year I had Echocardiogram....not my first. All in all pretty normal, except they discover 39 mm dilation on the Ascending  Aorta. My cardiologist and others don't have much concerns this far!? Of course I have since educated myself on the subject  and I do have a lot of concerns ??!!

By nature I am not a  panicky person🙀{thank God}..... but I am very interested if anyone in our Club  has thi...

Omega 3 fish oil - again!

I have checked the archive for previous comments on Omega 3 fish oil supplements, and there are a couple now more than ten years old.

I wondered if there have been any recent updates or new research findings to clarify the utility of this supplement?

I am aware that my diet is probably deficient in this regard, and am thinking of starting on 1000mg per day for general health and possible lowering of BP and triglyceride levels. Your observations would be most helpful. For info, I a...

I thought I was out of the woods

Hi folks, well i have what you call paroxysmal afib and up until the begining of the year it seems I was getting it once a month and it would last roughly 5 hours. August was the last straw and instead of pill n pocket(fleccidne) my EP started me at 100m. 50mg morning/night. Since I started fleccidne for the past couple of months my afib has been at bay until this morning at around 4 when it woke me up from a sound sleep.  It kind of just sucked the life out of me, I was hoping medi...

I must apologize

I didn't mean to alarm everyone by posting and then disappearing.

On the day after I posted, I had an appointment to discuss my symptoms with my PCP, as my EP had recommended. But when I woke up the morning of the appointment, I had severe GI symptoms. I felt so rotten, any cardiac issues were shoved to the back burner. We discussed cardiac issues only to decide to table them.

One abdomen C-T scan later, the diagnosis was diverticulitis. Since then, I've been between...

Newbie…. First Message

I wanted to come and get some information about a pacemaker from those that have one.  I have found that doctors have little ability to inform the patient correctly.

A little about me.  I am Spencer, I am 57, retired once but still working.  I spent 28 years in the Miitary as a Navy Commander and am a combat vet (dirt Navy).  I have a number of mental issues that I contend with but I wanted to see what is out there for information on a pacemaker and find a goo...

This is for the 56-year-old guy who removed his post “No turning Back” and deciding YES – NO to Pacemaker.

75-year-old male here, fairly fit, and able for my age! The “No turning back” was an issue with me also, I agree it is difficult. I guess our egos go to being young and fit to that of being old and infirmed.

I had a device similar to a Holter ECG called a Zio patch for two weeks. I believe it gave my Cardio Dr enough information to go to a permanent Biotroniks Linq. This was 27/7 monitoring and revealed that I had low pulse for 36% of my time monitoring for 245 days. I also...

Battery Monitoring - My message posted yesterday

I posted a message yesterday under the "Battery Monitoring" post that was intended to be a humorus post. I was making fun of some differences between the U.S. and the U.K. In no way did I intend to disrespect anyone. I was not at all serious about any part of it except for what I considered to be self-deprecating humor.

The potentially offensive part of that message has been taken down now. I do realize that some folks may have bee...

Pacemaker or purely coincidence?

Good Evening, All. I had a strange thing happen today at work, possibly pacemaker related. Or not. I just know its a first for me. I have a PM for 1.5 years due to complete heart block. I am very athletic, have always been. Today at work I took a quick break and walked down 10 flights of stairs to another building to treat myself to a tea latte. On the way back I suddenly felt a little tired, I wouldn't say it was substantial, but definitely there. I thought it might have been just a...

need interpretation of monitor report

Cardiologist's office sent latest quarterly report via email, and I need some help interpreting a few things.

Under heading: Atrial Lead Undersensing, it says:

"Atrial lead signal amplitude suboptimal. Stability of the signal over time needs to be monitored"

"Suboptimal" means not optimal.  What kind(s) of problems does this cause, and should I be asking doctor about it?  My next FTF appointment isn't till January.

My wife underwent a Stent Graft for an aortic aneurysm. The Cleveland Clinic is amazing!

My wife had an aortic aneurysm repair yesterday at the Cleveland Clinic and is coming home today! That procedure is an amazing minimally invasive advancement to fix a life threatening problem. Her aneurysm was 5 cm and was discovered by accident a few weeks ago during a CT for an unrelated issue. Needless to say; after that discovery we saw it as a ticking time bomb that needed immediate attention. Prior to this, she had not had any health issues and other than occasional mammo...

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
