Pacemakers/cell phones

Hey everyone...first post here.


I am 32 and after a lifetime of heart complications due to a congital heart defect I had an ablasion, a patch to fix a valve, a stint to widen a different valve and a pacemaker all 3 weeks ago. I am new here so im not sure how easy it is to search so forgive me if this has been asked and answered.

Do pacemakers affect cell phones? ie feedback etc?

Can I still enjoy roller coasters and things of that nature?

Pacemaker Replacement

Hi, I'm new. I am 31 yrs old and had 2 open heart surgeries due to congenital heart defects. One at 9 mos and other at 9 yrs old. I have been pacemaker dependent since I was a year old. I have had my current pacer for 18 years. Went to Dr.s last week and its time is apparently up. I am to go in next month for a pacer replacement. I am very unhappy though about the life span of the new pacers. Do I have a choice over what kind I can get? My current is a Guidant. I am not reading nice thing...

Pacemaker replacement in patients who already have AV node ablation

I have a biventricular synchronising pacemaker with only two of the 3 possible leads fitted due to incurable atrial fibrillation. The two leads that I have had fitted are pacing the ventricles at between 70 and 120 beats per minute. Has anyone had thier pacemaker replaced with a similar condition as I am a little concerned that my heart will stop dead when the leads are removed from my old pacemaker and that could cause sudden death. 1st Battery Change Anxiety

Hi Folks!

I'm a new member here. Just came in for a little support.

I'm a 47 year old man who had my first pacemaker implanted in 1999 when I was 39 because of a 3rd degree heart block.

Tomorrow I go into Cedar Sinai Medical Center in LA, Ca. for my first battery replacement. Doc says it's a pretty easy outpatient procedure. But, for some reason I'm having more anxiety over this battery change than I did the original implant.

almost 4 months

I want to post an update on how I'm progressing. I'm 47 and got my pm in March for bradychardia. The surgery went well but I had a few tough weeks where I didn't think I'd ever get my life back again. But since that time things have gotten so much better. It just takes time, patience, and lots of encouragement, and it definatly was tougher that the doctors say. Is an AV Node Ablation a good idea?

Hi Everyone....

Hope this finds everyone doing fine. I appreciated all your comments with questions I've had in the past and hope that you won't mind helping me again.

My cardiologist and EP have given me 3 options in regard to my chronic a-fib. Six weeks

Hello

It now has been six weeks since PM and although I have some days that are good, still have a few things, such as left shoulder painful, anxiety, just not feeling good, although I know when I do not have energy, to rest. I tried to go back to work, but that did not work out. Too soon. I know that everyone heals and adjusts at different levels. Having the PM probably saved my life, and I will have to be patient with the adjusting. This website has been soooo helpful for me.

I'm New to the Site (Real Long)

Hi to all, Well I'm a 25 yr old who has SVT.It started out first with IST then after the 3rd ablation It was swicthed to SVT I am on my 4th Sinus Modification w/Ablations around the sinus node and the docs are still puzzled why my HR still hasn't budged. Switched from Hysteresis ON to OFF again!

Hi everybody,

On 28.06 I posted related to the Hysteresis mode witch the doc switched me on (45/120). I was feeling really bad after this new change: near fainting very often, dizziness, slight loss of vision, palpitations, feeling warm and fatigue... Dizziness & Pacemaker Syndrome

Hi Folks!
I am from Indonesia and just got my PM on the 21th June. I have dual chamber Medtronis Sensia SEDR01.
Today my first day back to work (I am an Instrument Designer)

But even rarely I am still feeling dizziness and it comes on most when I walk little bit hurry.

Can anyone advise me? I also would like to know more about pacemaker syndrome.
